Today was a beautiful day, mid 70s, sun shining, not a cloud in the sky. Took my wife out to a buffet lunch, and then she talked me into accompaning her on a trip to a local, giant, shopping mall. Now, normally I can ride my bike all day long, but one hour in a mall wiped me out. Now I need a nap.
-
Whenever I hear those words, I sag visibly, like an animal taking a bullet and instantly feel ALL of my 66 years...yet I can stay up half the night working on the bike...
-
I haven't been in one of those forsaken places in ten years. life's too short! naps are a good thing.
-
Huh ?

"NOPE! We're going home first, then you go, honey, have a ball, I'm riding!"

Guzzidad,
You are the toughest man on this board if you can take your wife to the mall.

There is nothing sweeter than a good night kiss, unless you are prison!

My tolerance for time at any "shopping mall" is about 1-1.5 hours MAX.
Anything after that, I am ready to take my life...

Sometimes I have to walk through a shopping mall to go to the movies. I try not to go to that theater.
-
Don't they have an outside entrance to the theater?
The mall closes before the theater so they have outside entrances. At least they do here.
-
Wife stopped asking me to go with her to IKEA - she fears my behaviour will get us in trouble, or at the least get unwanted attention.
Somehow I can't take being in such places, feel a desire to see if furniture and stuff is solid by tearing and shaking, etc.

Wimmens are hard wired to like "shopping." Dorcia can happily shop all day, looking at this and looking at that, especially clothes. "Oh, isn't that cute?" Not buying anything. Fortunately.
Here's the difference. Women will shop all day, and buy something they don't need because it's "ON SALE" for 50%off.
Men will go buy something they need, even though they might find it cheaper somewhere else, and be gone.
Men are from Mars and Wimmen are from Venus, etc.

My wife hates to shop! Yep, she is a keeper. When she shops locally it is at Tractor Supply, or Lowes.
-
Good news! I've completely recovered from the trip to the mall. Woke up this morning and got out of the house before the wife woke up. Met a couple of friends of mine and we went for a lunch ride in perfect weather. Got 200 miles of therapy today and a good lunch to boot.

I taught my wife to shop online a decade ago..............
Also I don't go to malls much anyway, out west people get shot / robbed there..........

She got any sisters?

Women shop.
Men buy stuff.

Most of the time if I go shopping with my wife it makes her happy. So when we get home it's "man up" and she makes me happy. Win/win!
