So how much do you love your favorite Guzzi... enough to accept an even trade?
If Moto Guzzi offered you a new 2019 V85TT in trade for your favorite Guzzi in your stable, would you accept or decline the offer and if so, why?
-
Absolutely! Then I could go buy another V7III and put the green tins on it! LOL!
-
No way!
Adventure style bikes don't appeal to me, quite simply.
But maybe if the V85 motor appeared in a nice street bike, and there was a considerable weight saving compared to the Griso……
-
That's a tough choice...the 2V 1200 motor in the Norge is SO sweet and the bike so comfortable to me that I would have to take the V85 on a LONG ride to see if it eats the miles as effortlessly as the Norge...OTOH, being able to explore farther afield would be a nice extra...can't I have BOTH???
-
No.

I agree. The 2v 1200 motor in my 1200 Sport is sweet too and the bike is set up like MG built it for me.
-
Yup, pick one😎
-
Interesting scenario, hard to answer as I have not yet ridden one. I will say that the 850 motor in my LMIII is my favorite to date. I already have a reserve on a test ride with option to purchase one of the first of six to arrive at Seacoast. If the new FI 850 is as smooth as the carbed 850 of yesteryear, we will be talking turkey.
I know I know , yes or no would have answered your question.
-
Nope.
-
Yup, pick one😎
Do the Robin.... :thumb:

Stelvio? Nope, its my warrior, Big Fat Green Hippo.
Stornello? Nope, Its my "lets have fun bike".
I'll trade my Daughters Duke for V85TT....
-
Yes! And laugh my head off while I rip down the road.
-
nope
-
nope
Nope, but I would probably swap my Mk 2
-
Nope. To much time and history with those bikes. I might trade my Ducati.
-
My favorite Guzzi (85 Cal II) has 250K miles on it, so, yeah, probably would. Can always buy another Cal II.
-
I'd trade the Quota.
-
No, waiting on the new LeMans. I’m sure it’s coming.
T4
-
I would say 'yes, in gray please'. The big blocks are kinda heavy for my weak back and while my V7 III is great, I think the V85 will be the Goldilocks bike that isn't too big but still offers a more modern ride than the V7.
-
Only if I could lie about which is my favorite.
-
No way I'd trade them my '69 Ambo even though it has 111,000 miles on it, needs a bit of work and isn't the prettiest thing.
-
I'm not really sure which is my favorite.
The V7 Racer is probably worth the least, but, would be hard to replace due to the record fairing.
The Le Mans is a project (currently with no fork on it).
I pretty much enjoy riding the V7III and Eldorado equally, depending on what I'm in the mood for.
Since I have more $$$ into the Eldorado than it is worth, and likely as much as the MSRP for the V85TT, I'd let them take the V7III, as replacing it would be far easier and cheaper than replacing my Eldo.
So, yes. Heck, if I missed the V7III, I could sell the V85TT, and buy another V7III and have change left over.
-
Can I replace my Griso 1100 "favorite" afterwards or would I have to stick to 2 bikes?
-
I'd trade my '76 LeMans but those in the know here think my LeMans would be worth two V85s. I'd settle for a V85 and a 1400 Eldorado.

Them's fightin' words! :boxing:
-
I'd buy a cheap V7 used, tell them it was my favorite, and trade. That way I could keep my LMIII, my T3 and the Eldo.
-
Ahhhhh...."NO" - somewhat attached to my '98 Centauro GT, aka..."The Yellow Horse!"
...1 of 245 imported to the USA...   :thumb:

Not in this lifetime.
-
I never fall in love with my bikes. I have found that there is always something else that I would like to have. Would I trade my FrankenGuzzi? I would.
-
I only have the one, and although I love it I could be persuaded to let it go and be given a brand new V85TT.

I'm going with this if I can find one very cheap. But....
If I had to give up one of my bikes, NO WAY. I don't really care for the style. But....
If they offered a new version of my Eldo with a 900-1000cc engine , I might just give up my EVT.

My one and only 1200 Sport for a new V85?
Sure! I'd like to go lighter.
-
I rode the V85TT last week, found it to be very impressive and I'm thinking of buying one.
However, if I had to give up this, then no chance...

Don’t bloody well blame ya’

^^^ nice picture.. :thumb:

I'm in the "no" camp. Everytime I see a picture of the bike from the front it reminds me of Gonzo.

The V85 is the most desirable bike Guzzi has made since I bought my Vintage, but there is no way that I would give up that 'ol ditch pump. Those two valve Big Blocks aren't being made anymore...
-
I like much about the V85TT, and I would take one if given it. However, I would not buy one or trade for one: I do not like adventure-style bikes with their beaks, I do not like them, Sam I am...

You say that like it's a bad thing-ha ha!

Nope,
My all time favorite Guzzi is still my 72 Eldorado, the V7 Sport, 750S are nice bikes, pretty to look at, a little quicker than the Eldo (not much though) but not as comfortable to ride, but no, the current Guzzi line up would not have me trading in my 70's iron.
-
Absolutely, if it came with the luggage. My 1000SP needs work, so I guess they could fix it.
-
I'd take it!
and then promptly trade it for a shiny new V7III.
-
Thought this was a trick question...Of course I would! :bike-037:

No way ever. I 'm a dinosaur, I'll keep my dino bike.

I have to say NO to the deal. My latest addition just arrived to Toronto today, still in the crate:
(https://i.ibb.co/sHNxDRj/InCrate.jpg) (https://ibb.co/sHNxDRj)
but... next year I would like to review the option to have V85TT in my garage. It is great looking bike and I would love to buy one but not sure if the insurance premiums will be friendly/affordable enough to get one :(
BTW, anybody wants to guess what's in the box?
-
I have a V85 ordered. Having said that, I would NEVER trade in my '71 Ambo Police or '74 V7 Sport for one. And both are worth a straight up trade. NEVER!
-
BTW, anybody wants to guess what's in the box?
Rarefied air?
-
Rarefied air?
NOT a Guzzi...
-
I'd have to decline and keep my Griso since they no longer make them. Plus, I don't think the V85 can offer the same thrill.

^^^^^
Wot he said. I'll keep my Griso. But if I could afford it, I'd have a V85 too.
-
Yup, my Cali is for sale and I will be looking at a V85TT, GS 1250 or the new Rocket 3..
-
Sure, I’d trade my Breva 1100 in a heartbeat for a new V85TT. Then I’d make one of you guys a good deal on the V85TT! Then I’d go bike shopping.
-
I'll only get a new bike if I don't have to give up any of the old ones.
-
BTW, anybody wants to guess what's in the box?
You found Jimmy Hoffa?
-
You found Jimmy Hoffa?
No, keep looking.

I'm afraid it would take four v85's to get me off my MGX. That way I could sell 2 of them to buy another MGX. Then, the wife and I would each have 2 bikes :thumb:
-
I would trade my 1998 EV, but not my 1968 V700 !!
