Love how the Guzzi designers cribbed design cues from Hurricane for Roamer.  Fuel tank is a dead ringer!

This brings back a favorite memory from long ago...I met a guy at my first Norton rally,Larry,at Leggett,Ca.up where highway 1 and 101 rejoin. It was 1980 and we became friends.I went to visit him in Stayton,Oregon and he suggested we go to Portland to see a bike shop he knew,it was the Cycle Hub,aka the Sandy Bandit.Larry had been cultivating this guy for years,he was infamous as a crusty curmudgeon but for some reason he took a liking to me and gave me the full tour...OMG he had been buying out British bike dealers as they closed and it was like Midas's hoard,he had 10 X-75 Hurricanes lined up,5 TT-120 Triumphs,jaw-dropping doesn't come close!!! The flip side was that he would take new bikes and break them up for parts, more money that way... It was the only time I was ever there, but I will never forget that trip!!!

It really was a Rocket 3 with the body work designed by Craig Vetter. If you look closely at a Rocket 3 motor and a Trident motor, the cylinders on the Beezer are inclined forward about 15 degrees and the Trident cylinders are vertical. Different crankcases. Both engines, with their three sets of points to adjust and time, were a headache to tune. If one set loosened and closed up, the engine would run real hot and would likely grenade. A bud with a Trident blew his up chasing me and my 800CC big bore Bonneville across the Baldwin Bridge. When I took it apart, sure as hell, one set of points had closed a bit.
