Title: Cup Holder Help - Norge
Post by: cappisj1 on April 04, 2019, 12:49:11 PM
I am looking for a cup holder for my Norge. I can not find an out-of-the-way place to mount one. Second everything looks oversized or over built. Something dainty and out of the way. I have never had a cup holder so what I see in my mind may not be available.

Thanks

Too funny.  Please post pictures of your result.  A practical solution is:

The clamp replaces the socket head bolt at the top of your left- or right-hand handlebar.

You can attach a RAM mount, attaching to the clutch cylinder ..then attach this item above...Voila!  This is a common place to mount a GPS, so unless you have one there already, this is your best solution...could hold a water bottle or perhaps a Starbucks coffee cup.

Which Ram mount were you referring to?  Clutch cylinder attachment....

I have multiple cup holders, and never spent big for the metal ones. Some guy selling "chubby cup" holders at the bike show seems to have the most adjustable version out there. On some of my bikes, if I didn't have room on the handlebars for the clamp part, I simply remove the clamp part, and zip tie the cup holder part to a mirror stalk.

Thanks!  The people I ride with all are careful about hydration and use various cup holder ideas.  I gulp down fluids as I get a chance but know I should be more careful.  I'll look into this.

This is the handlebar clamp I was referring to.  The previous owner had them on the left-side for a RAM phone clamp and on the right-side for an Adaptiv TPX 2 radar/laser detector, both of which I removed but left clamps behind.

My fork adjuster is sunken because the previous owner installed Motobits Handlebar Risers, very nice.

Hey...those are pretty cool ideas too...might have to get one of them for the other bikes.

I like the clutch mount. Will this make its way over the reservoir so holder sits on the front side of the riser? I think there is enough room when bars are turned to max to not hit the fairing.

Years ago we used ones from a boat and mounted them to the fairing. Fairings now are pretty thin and cheap.

For sure, and you can always buy a longer connector if needed, RAM has many accessories of different lengths so you can customize as needed.
