for this cafe'd transmogrification.
Often we see good craft but an ultimate incarnation that may make some blood boil. this bike is no exception:

one positive.. it has a front fender..

My first thought!
Now, if they put a rear one on as well I think overall that I like the look of it. Brutilist, minimumilist, balanced.

A fork brace would have been a better use for the CNC machine than that "Special top yolk.."
-
Agreed, Chuck. It looks like a direct copy of the original but for the speedo mount. Hardly necessary just for that.
I also don't think it looks bad, but would want a rear fender. The trick then is making it look good with such a short seat.
Looks like they eliminated the center cross over from the exhaust and welded a cross over pipe to the mufflers.

jeez, I wish someone would try something different.

What's your suggestion, Turin?
Frankly, I'm more into the stock V7 look - the cafe thing doesn't do much for me.
Beyond that, there's the racing look with a fairing, or cruiser. Anything else? Rat? Yuck
Then again, just about anything is an improvement over the stock LM1000 look.
-
I built one from pieces, it's over in the builds section. ( It's how I think Guzzi should have done the LeMans SE.)
I actually like the LeMans 1000 look.
I'm tired of cafe'd tonti's follow the same pattern. Allot tank, cut frame rails with a poor fitting seat / tail section, no fenders, and a big empty area where the battery used to go. At least this one was a performance bike in it's day, so there's a little go to back up the show.
It's been done to death. I'm not wanting to see anything crazy, just a touch of originality.
I'm a fan of the Ritmo Sereno Guzzi's. They are not only pretty, they look purposeful.

Dont mind it, and sounds like it was a real heap to start with.. Id change somethings. But with a custom... its up to the owner/builder to put their stamp on it and we all like a little different... A little more seat... at least a stub of a rear fender.. And heck I like side panels..but all in all.. I would ride the wheels off of that.

'A little different'?
Sorry. A bit of wee escaped.......

Built for a client, so some decisions likely compromise, A cool bike for the streets of London, but a rear fender would be a must on those wet roads.
I would probably prefer a mint Daytona for the money spent they on this.

Limeys love their roadburners. Yeah, it's been done to death but from the first time a bloke dropped a 650 Triumph twin into a Manx chassis cafe racers have had a long history. Why stop now?

You posted positive about my earlier posts, so here's an update-
Progress is way slow (and that shop is a mess right now..) but my V700 Corsa-Record project is plodding along between work stuff and eldercare. Most if not all of the unobtanium parts are finally here. Theres a few more to simply afford, like Monza fuel cap and petcocks, that are necessary for the fab stuff. Tank and seat clay are reasonably well-sorted. Patterns for rear sets and exhaust are mostly scaled. Fenders are a recurring consideration but aren't part of the original Record bikes or my concept. I wanted have at least the tank & seat buck work, if not fabrication of the actual seat, done before a local event in late April. We'll see... It may have to go as-is in clay.

Lots more sorting and planning to date than good eye candy. When there's enough to see, a build thread will be posted

Meh, does nothing for me. The original factory red bike is the best version.

It didn't give it's life, just put on a bikini. Looks better than most I seen.

Please do! Replicating/building a factory/historical or period correct race bike is right up my alley. I can't wait to see your progress.

I like it. A rear hugger would help but by far the best thing about it is the Motogadget.
-
It looks awesome to me. I love that style. But yeah, that rear seat and lack of rear fender looks like poo and has been done a million times before.
Also, the seat really does look better when it doesn’t sit on top of the frame rails. It looks like someone simply set it on the bike and it isn’t really attached.

Yawn! for this one. The more the bikes age, the more I keep mine stock. All of the LeMans still have their body parts. Very minor changes, mirror and turn signals but they still look oem.
One of the 1000S have bar end mirrors. It came with the bike and the other one has stock mirrors.
