Council Grove Kansas rally,(since 1972) June 14-16 .Be sure to attend ,it's a great rally ,beautiful historic area, nice campground, showers onsite. You need to try and be there .
David Katsiz ,a great guy and and super Moto Guzzi enthusiast hosted this rally for many years .It has been still hanging on since his passing but I hear this will be the last year for this rally, My wife and I earned this long distance plaque in 1999,we've been there most every year since 1996.

Council Grove is a really neat place. It's worth the ride.

Hey Randy,
Ellie and I will be there. We are staying in CG at one of the motels. Looking forward to seeing you and that grand old G5. I still see my old G5 from time to time as it belongs to a long time family friend. I hope that this isn't the last year for the rally as its been a part of our lives here in the mid-west for so long but like with so many other things time takes its toll and things change.

Hi Ray, Good to hear from you.I still have my faithful G-5 but Trixi and I will be coming on my Norge,I built a one wheeled trailer to haul all our camping gear,it works really well behind the Norge. We look forward to seeing you and Ellie in a few weeks. :thumb:

All good things come to an end . Maybe JB simply wants to wind down a bit .

Please come if you can...this venue is effing perfect and I'm sad that it's over after this year..JB is a wonderful host(how many rally organizers bring a big refrigerator for your beer??)...and the town is close by for those of you who can't live without absolute comfort...I LOVE this place!

It is kind of like Cedar Vale. Nice community along with a beautifully peaceful area to ride through. A lot of history to the KS rallies. Life changes and goes on, but attend if you can you will not regreat it. The life and death of people and rallies. Hope some ghosts will attend.

This was my first rally when I began riding Guzzi's in 1996, so it's only fitting that I attend the last one.

Depending on how hot and humid it is , I will try to make this one . JB has done an excellent job of carrying on the tradition , he needs to be recognized for his efforts

This was my first rally
My first rally too back in 2001! I remember great folks and pies from the 4H club?

How many made the first Kansas rally in '72 at Manhatten, then Sylvan Grove, then Abilene when it was called the National at these towns?
The Council Grove rally is always a bargain. If they still have the homade pies then that is worth the rally fee.
In my long history of riding I've seen many rallies end. It is tons of work to put one on and when it looks easy that is because the hosts did their homework.
David Kasitz was a special man. He sent me a thank you card when I retired after 25 years of being the Texas Rep for the MGNOC.

My whole family used to go, when I was growing up. We did Abilene, then Lindsborg, (or was it the other way around?) then Council Grove.

I'm planning on attending. Is preregistration required, or is it pay at the gate?
-
You can pay when you arrive.

:thumb: We should get a head count of how many people from the board are going. I know of at least 3, right now. Also, if anyone from down south is going to be coming up 169 or 75, let me know, and we can join up around Chanute.
