To be good you have to be able to anticipate the lag time between stomp and storm.

OSWEGO, really?   I was there from 1968-1972.  We did all our racing on the power plant road...2 miles of straight double lane.

Thanks for the memories.

We bracket raced at Laplace Dragway (Laplace, LA) when I was young. I drove everything from an Opel Ralleye to a Gene Snow Super stocker. We thought that anything that could do better than 13s was super-quick. Nowadays, Honda Accords can do 13s...

Street racing was big, too. Lots of money changed hands when guys with hot cars raced. I learned to speed-shift in a '66 Chevelle SS with an L88. Even with a wide ratio T10, that car would haze the Firestone Wide Ovals to 100mph. Good times...

For me, drag racing cars has become way too boring with the auto transmissions, tranny brakes, computerized launch and all that..Street bikes can be interesting .....I used to do a lot of drag racing on the street and track, cars and bikes...Snapping out the clutch on a Triumph 650 at 6000 rpm off the line is always entertaining.. I did pretty good on a 73 Trident 750...I don't do hole shots any longer..Ducati is too wheelie prone and I'm a bit old to fight it back down..

I remember Oswego.  Went there in late 70s to watch my cousin run his 67 Camaro.  Then 20 years later I bought a house 1 mile from the old track.  I think it shut down around 81.

Thats pretty quick for people that havent been on the track before.

I ran a mustang for a few years back in the late 80's Lebanon Valley speedway in eastern NY  It was a lot of fun. We just did it for fun..
