Title: Like meeting your first girlfriend again, (and going out for....lunch)
Post by: Huzo on April 16, 2019, 06:45:13 PM
Had an afternoon on this thing and re kindled some old memories..
(Mostly good..)
Just like my first girlfriend.
Smelt beautiful.
Looked good in the half light.
Very forgiving..(mostly.. :embarrassed: ).
Once you started her she was hard to stop.
Pulled like a 14 year old boy with a wrinkled Penthouse.
Plenty of room to move around on.
And
Keep the liquids up to her and she never overheated..

ps
(Not a bad set of chambers either just quietly...)
Ahh.. Life in 1977.
Priceless  :thumb:

I always liked the water bottles. I remember seeing one for the first time in Pratt and Osbornes' in Geelong in 74. I had just got my first bike,a Yamaha 100 road and the 750 looked just so good compared to what I had. If, I say if, I had the money it would have been a choice between that and a RE 5.

Never been a fan of exposed radiators.  Glad you got to reminisce with the old girl.   :thumb:

I bought a brand new "Water buffalo" in 1978, the last year available here. Beautiful black with blue stripes, put over 40,000 miles on it, trouble free. Even pulled a sidecar for a while.
