I know some people have posted what the Givi Dolomiti luggage looks like on a Roamer. Here's a pic of the luggage on a v7 iii. This is the 30L variety.
Got the bags and racks for them from AF1 Racing. Install was pretty straightforward. Had to work a little harder on one side than the other to get the luggage rack to play nice with the tail rack. Not bad though.
The one thing I wish I'd done differently is verify with AF1 about the keying. They were sold as a pair so I assumed both bags would be keyed the same. They're not. Not a huge issue but I'm sure I will be rekeying them before long.
Plenty of room for the rider. There's a fair amount of clearance with the pipes. There's also a 36L which some people may prefer. I wasn't sure about the pipe clearance though so I went with the one I knew would work.

They look pretty good and rugged. But man what bs not to sell them as keyed pairs?!?

Nice looking set up. Thanks for posting.

Check with AF1 Racing. They just might have another pair with dissimilar keys. :undecided:

I had to get a set of matching locks and keys. It was a while ago that I did mine--there are some small pieces and as I recall the sequence of how you did things was a little fiddly, but the end result was good.
Two problems I have with the 30L dolomitis: (1) I wish they were top loading and (2) there's no handle on them, so they're a little cumbersome to carry. I made a handle from a piece of leather and some plastic clips that makes it easier to carry, but that's one at a time.

Personally, I would have gone with black, but once you cover them with stickers from all your journeys it won't really matter. :thumb:

1. First things first..... we need more pictures.
2. I bought a three lock set off of EBay. This allowed me to key the two boxes the same, and to have an extra lock set if I ever decided to add a top box. Note that these locksets are very robust, as compared to many of the other Givi locksets. Probably why they are more expensive.
3. I like the plain aluminum finish. My bike already has enough black on it.
4. When I called and spoke to the Givi tech people - they recommended that I not use the 36L cases, so - 30L it was.
Congratulations - now you have 60L of waterproof and lockable storage !!!

I have one of these cases as a topcase on my GS:

Thanks for the comments/questions.
Pics: Lcarlson, like the F700 pic. I'll get some more pics up.
Packing for a trip: I tried a test pack last night and I think the 60L will be fine for my trips. I need to dig up Daniel's sample packing list; it was really detailed. I haven't yet accounted for batteries/cameras/raingear/?. I'll probably end up strapping some dry bags or something to the seat and/or the rear rack. May/may not get a tank bag. If anyone has recommendations, they're welcome. Still want to get a bungie net and some kind of cable lock I can use for jackets and helmets.
Color and size: I originally was leaning toward the black but like kballowe said: I decided I had enough black on the bike. Happy with the aluminum. YMMV. Good to know the 36L weren't recommended by Givi for the bike.
Portability: Rich, yeah. I noticed the lack of a handy "carry" strap immediately. I've been looking at some options which might work. I'm leaning toward straps with clips on the end (like for computer bags or horse tack). Not sure yet.
Keys: Kev, I agree on the keys but overall I like the bags so *shrug*. One area of disappointment and a bunch of areas of happiness. Kiwi Dave, good point. I'll call them. I can at least let them know what my expectations were. kballowe, I hadn't thought about ebay for the keys; I'll give them a shot.
