Title: Billy Joel loves Moto Guzzi

Only 125 miles so far on my V9, but loving every minute of it. Stopped by 20th Century Motorcycles in Oyster Bay and for some reason, Billy Joel had a few of his Moto Guzzis parked at the curb. I think he wants to add mine to his collection.

While he collects everything including old British, American, Japanese, German, etc.; after talking to him, his favorites are....you guessed it!

We were just up there a month or so ago.

It's his personal shop/garage. It houses some 70-80 of his bikes and is staffed by his mechanic who maintains, restorers and/or customizes bikes for him.

They are almost all registered and ready to ride.

Billy calls his mechanic and has him gas up a few and roll em out anytime he is ready for a ride with some friends.

I counted at least 9 Guzzis including two project bikes.

He looks a lot different from when I saw him in concert in Boston in the late 70s.   :laugh:

and to think the only thing that stood between me having Christy Brinkley was money and fame.   :shocked:

I saw a green painted loop frame Guzzi on display at the Hard Rock Cafe in Manhattan that was his.

Anyone who could do a duet with Ray Charles and sound genuine is ok by me.

I was there when Moto Guzzi introduced the V7 Racer.Billy showed up on a Bmw and I on my SP.
