loctited intake manifold bolt vibrated clean out!!!
weird
Am I wringing the beast too hard or does that mean my motor's too vibey?
I'll admit to riding in a highly spirited fashion a lot of the time

I had the brass nuts on the exhaust manifold fall off one cylinder whilst riding, the retaining collets also fell out somewhere never to be found - I thought the exhaust had split when I heard the noise.
Also lost a few bolts off of my Ducatis, including an exhaust manifold stud (the nut was tight so the whole stud fell out), I think it's the nature of V-twins? recommend high temp. loctite....

What gets me about manifold bolts is when you want them out they are next to impossible a lot of the time and the stud breaks in the head
Never had one actually come off, but have seen them loosen in the past. Usually if installing the headers after a few runs they loosen off, possibly a result of the gasket settling in? Not really sure but its happened
Agree with Dukedesmo, although the nature of vibrations on my Ducati 1098 seems to make that bike more prone to shedding fasteners than the Guzzi. Nearly lost the rear heatshield when on one run 2 out of 3 fasteners were ejected and the remaining was very loose. Became aware of it when the shield had enough movement to start resonating and the noise drew my attention to it, remember being utterly amazed that I could loose 2 out of 3 bolts in 200 miles
That said I've seen vibrations on Guzzis break, steering damper brackets (Daytona), Fuel pump brackets (Daytona), coil brackets (Sporti), rear shock remote resevoir brackets (Daytona)

Ever ride a BSA ? DonG

Locktite (or any other thread locker) will NOT hold unless both the bolt and the threaded hole are thoroughly degreased before application and tightening.
-
A lot of those thread lockers don't like heat; there are Loctite ones which say you release them by heating the object.
I suspect that if they are used on an exhaust then it would not help their ability to lock a thread.
My own solution for motors which have exhaust bolts is to replace the bolt with an exhaust stud, make sure it is bottomed out (and use any other idea so that it won't undo in the first instance) and then use an exhaust nut with the thread on the stud coated with Copper Eze. Far less long term problems.

Which flavor Lemans?
You're not wringing the beast too hard. It says in the owner manual to ride it that way!

This. Aircraft use brass nuts on the studs to keep them from rusting into one solid mass.
