Thoughts on V9 Roamer handlebar swap? V7? Bobber? Or others? (My T100's are perfect, but not the V9s!)
After putting on over 200 miles on it yesterday, I realized that the stock handlebars were designed for the "cruiser feet forward" original design. But the V9 really is a standard with the proper peg position on the later production.
The stock bars are 34" wide with a hefty rise, something best fit for a heavy Touring Bike, not a very light flick-able motorcycle. (T100 is 32" low rise)
Like all motorcycles, it is best ridden snug to the tank (with my knees a couple of inches from the heads); but then I am confronted with the huge bars that make me sit upright on a hard seat instead of slightly leaned in. I appreciate

Here's a picture of my former V9 with Rizoma risers and a Rizoma tapered bar. Dramatically changed the riding position - lower, more forward lean.

They look great Mike! Any issues with bar end weights? Is there a size/weight I should be looking for, or am I overthinking it. Thanks!

If you like the Triumph bars, buy a set and install them on your Guzzi.
I did just that on my 2010 V7 Classic: Installed Triumph Thunderbird Sport bars because I liked the bend.

As I recollect, I put the heaviest weights in that Rizoma offered. You will need new bar-end weights as the Guzzi ones do not work.
Also, the switches are bit finicky to mess with so be really, really careful with them if you switch the bars.
I also bought a drill guide that clamps on the bars to drill the required holes.

I sat on the new V9 Bobber Sport in the dealership and I was like, "Wow, this feels like a standard instead of a cruiser."
What I like to do is sit on the bike while it is in a stand and with my feet on the pegs close my eyes and put my hands where I think they should be. Get my wife to take a couple of photos and then you have a good idea of what you need other than the stockers.

I just swapped bars on a 76 Sportster yesterday and foolish me thought this would be just as easy. Finicky switches and drilling holes? I will screw it up for sure, maybe have to farm it out.
I was thinking the same thing as soon as I posted it Rocker59, just get the same Triumph bars I enjoy. I'll have to check V7 ergs because that should have the correct holes and bar end weights.

I bought my 2017 Roamer in January.
It came with an additional (complete) set of foot controls, and with 900 miles on the bike so far - that extra set of controls are still in the box, and tucked away on the shelf.
This bike came from Cadre Cycles in Cincinnati. They changed out the handlebar arrangement by using a set of Griso risers. This setup fits me well, and is comfortable.

Did you get it sorted Red?
I'm trying to get my head around the geometry, but does rolling the bars forward, bring you forward or does it do something strange?

I did a bar swap like on a similar design Nevada
Transformed it. Leaning slightly forward now instead of holding a broomstick while leaning slightly backwards
From wider to narrower width
From higher to lower rise
From a flatter bar to a little more bend
Bar end mirrors
I almost want to go down a size in tire width too, from 110/90 I’m thinking of a 90/90, like a T or T3. The front seems a little overreactive at below 15mph until you stop

Your cables can become a challenge. They might be too long when you get a narrower bar..
I played w the bars a long time before drilling holes for the control levers. Where your fingers fall will change quite a bit when you lean forward more…personal preference but with a new bar you get to set those angles yourself

Would something like a V7 bar be a good starting point? I like to position my levers just so. Time and time again I've cut the handlebar nubbins out of the switch gear to avoid the fuss of drilling holes in the bars. If needed, a round of electrical tape on the bar will have the switch gear fitting tight as ever. You'll have your choice of 7/8" bars.

The Triumph bars may create an additional issue. I am not sure about the T100 but my T120 has 1" bars. Was a problem when I wanted to install Oxford heated grips. I had to use some intended for Harleys. I am not crazy about the larger diameter of the grips but I suppose I will get used to them.

I think that I'll see if I can work out the rise and pull back are on the existing bars and see what options there are

The Roamer risers arch slightly back toward the rider. Wonder if they could be turned around and so pull the bars more forward a bit.

I think that if you did that, the tips of the bars would point forwards which would be a bit weird
That being said I wielded the spanners last night and rolled them forward.
Moved about 2" and could go a bit more.
I'll report once I've ridden the bike some miles
