Title: 1929 Ariel jet ski? Lake Como content
Post by: SED on May 24, 2019, 09:42:38 PM
Many of you know that I also have an Ariel motorcycle problem...

This was a publicity stunt cooked up in the 1920s.  The original on the English channel:

Testing the replica on Lake Como 90 years later:  (think you can view without logging into anything...)

Very interesting! - Had an old pic of that bike on the waves near the white cliffs of Dover.

Its fine till it hits the bigger speed bumps.

That's awesome ! I've learnt something new today, I had no idea this existed.
You definitely don't want your bike water cooled on this contraption !

I was going to build one of those contraptions in the early 80's. I had 2 55gal drums to be split in half length ways and capped, 4 outriggers. Never built it, made drums into wood burner stove for the garage.
