Title: Lovely Jawa Collection
Post by: canuck750 on May 27, 2019, 10:05:14 AM
Our local chapter of the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group (CVMG) held a two day motorcycle show in a local shopping mall over the weekend. A new member brought four amazing restorations, three Jawa and a very unique CZ scooter. I am always amazed what  turns up in the vintage motorcycle world.

We had three Guzzi's on display, my trust Eldorado, 56 Cardelino and my friends Le Mans MK III, plus the Guzzi cutaway motor I finished last month.

Rare Seely Norton showed up as well.

The green DKW was a local barn find, literary in a barn in Northern Alberta, it is truly amazing, previous owner painted it John Deer green, I love it.

The DKW is a 250 two stroke, the casting, including the enclosed chain guard and carb cover are lovely. There are more Auto Union or DKW stamps on this thing than you can imagine. Even the head of the front axle is stamped with the four Auto Union rings. Even came with the German text service manual, early 1950's.

We got the scooter out here, but it was called the Nzeta.  Don't know whether it was assembled here in NZ or not.

As a young student I used to lust for a Seely Condor.  Kinda cool with that OHC 500 single hanging there like August in the undergrowth.

Sorry I didn't take any more.

Huzo,

the 62' Bonnie is a friend of mines, he also brought the Seeley Norton, that is how he found it except he added larger calipers and discs (still has the stock Lockheed parts)

I have not ridden the Bonnie but it is immaculate.

I rode my mate's Nzeta a few times.  With the way the front end was set up, when you put the front bake on it would rise up rather than sink down.  Just about shat myself when i first used the front brake; made for scary handling.

Thanks for sharing those amazing photos. The only one that hurt my sensitive eyes was the saddle on the Bonneville 750!

NZeta scooters were made in Auckland, NZ from about 1960 - 1962. There were not a whole lot made. One of my treasures is the plastic name plate from one.

"unique CZ scooter" is ČZ 175/502 (Cezeta) but everybody call it "Prase" which mean pig  :cheesy:, it is actually newly produced as electric version (but expensive like hell).
Here is one realy funny commercial with this scooter in main role (translantion is not needed).
