Title: Adventure travel on a loop

Just began reading a new book, Man in the Saddle, by the Dutchman Paul van Hooff. He rode a '75 V7 Special (must have been one of the last built) from Deadhorse to Ushaia. There's a newer book not yet translated about riding the same bike across Asia to Tokyo.

Very good writing, almost novelistic and far better than most round-the-world motorcycle stories. Many fascinating encounters with really colorful people along the way. The translation into English is good too, though as a professional grammar snob I'm always annoyed by spell-check blunders (the translator believes for instance that Loops had double-leading-shoe "breaks.")

I'm reading the Kindle edition, though there's a paperback version too.
