Never been there. Good excuse for a ride. Going on the 12th weather permitting. Waze shows the fastest route, lot o' I-95, ugh. Will search out some back roads.

Where are you in SE CT, Larry? Far East - Like New London and beyond? Or the other yclept SE CT, South of Stamford? Crinkly roads abound, in CT. Tell wayes no tolls, no slabs. Better yet, look @ a hard copy of CT and imagine. If you must plug your new found, self determined 'way points' into your gps. Leave after the commuter traffic and enjoy the ride. R3~
BTW: You will likely find rider/customers @ Hamlin's from ME, Western NY, South Jersey & beyond. Everyone's mileage will vary.

I'm in Salem 'bout ten miles north of New London. Lots o' paths from here to there.

I'm sure there will be some here who have not been to Jim's shop. Prepare to be amazed. A bike shop run by bike guys who ALL ride all the time. no corporate BS, bait and switch, and you can SEE the service shop! Who knew?

Something like this...with newest models!

A friend of mine is at the gathering at Lake George. I told him to check out the Moto Guzzi's and specifically the V 85's if there.
They did show up by the guy named Dave who is taking the 3 V 85's around to various dealerships. I met him and rode the bike at Cadre back at the end of April. So I am sure they are on their way to Hamlin, CT. after this week in NY. There are other Guzzi units on display but not sure who is responsible for those. My buddy told me that it seemed a little unorganized. 3 bikes (not the V 85's) would not start. Possibly shellacked gas (sitting too long) and a dead
battery or two. I can't confirm any of this but my pal is a straight shooter. If you are there to promote your product, wouldn't you at the very least make sure the bikes on display actually ran? Again, I was not there and can't confirm this but if true, it boggles the mind. I urged him to take a test ride on the V 85 and he was able to snag a ride first thing this morning. He said there were long lines at the other manufacturers with the exception of MG. The V 85 is not his type of motorcycle, but he said he did enjoy the ride and sees why I have placed my deposit on one. He commented specifically how he could leave it in 4rth gear and ride the wave without shifting thru the twisties and was impressed with how well the suspension handled the potholes. He said he hit some pretty good holes but the suspension did not bottom out.

Sorry, correction. Hamlin Cycles, Bethel, CT. But you catch my drift. I would be certain they are on their way after this gathering in Lake George.

So the truck is at Americade?

I know the little trailer with the three V 85's and Dave the contracted guy is there. I do not know who is responsible for getting the other Guzzi's there.
Whether it is a corporate effort or local dealer. Sorry, I don't have that info. It looked like there was another 10 or so Guzzi's lined up from the photo my buddy sent me. But no picture of a large rig so I can't comment.
-
Just asked my friend. No corporate rig. Must be local dealer that provided the additional bikes.

Im heading up to Lake George on Thursday, so I hope they have things sorted by then. Im looking forward to seeing the 85... but frankly I mostly want to try a V7.. ive not ridden one yet, and wondering how they compare power wise to my 02 stone.

It's in the ballpark - especially if you look at power to weight ratios on the latest version (III) and vs my old 00 Jackal.
Jackal - ~572# wet, 63 rwhp / 60 ft. lbs. of torque = 9.08 #/hp
V7III - ~470# wet, 48 rwhp / 44 ft. lbs of torque = 9.79#/hp

Hamlin on Thursday with Tom B. Nice little restaurant across the parking lot next to Hamlin, good food with good prices.

Nice to know. I love my 02 stone... but you know... one bike is never enough... :)

I'm thinking about making the trip. Anyone familiar with the area know if there's any resonable lodging near by ?
-
There are plenty of hotels and motels, even a few B&B's in the Danbury area. The Shop, in Bethel, is but 2-3 miles East of I-84 in Danbury, CT. If you are of the mind, spirit and facility there is a nice airport, in Danbury, as well. Or take a train! Fly and ride? RR and ride? The lush spring countryside is lovely. R3~
