About a month ago we had a couple of fatalities from motorcycle accidents. This one involved a fireman going to his duty station. Glad to see that he's indicted for manslaughter. The following weekend a tourist made a left in front of a guy on a Sunday. He died too. Not a pure accident, they're looking at a negligent homicide charge. Hope that one has deep pockets too. Stay safe guys!

A guy I worked with was killed in a similar manner to the firefighter, around this time, last year. He was northbound on 169, just south of chanute, when some idiot kid flew up behind a southbound car, and popped out to pass, without checking. Head on collision at 70+ mph. The guy is still awaiting trial. I don't see him getting off easily, as it turned out that the highway patrol were already on their way to the area, looking for him, because they had received numerous calls from other motorists about his reckless driving.
