So my bike hasnt been starting consistently for the past week. Thanks to Dave Del i tried a different battery. Seemed improved. I pulled the tank cleaned and checked the connections. I pulled the starter and cleaned the connections. I checked the fuses.
Dave checked the battery. autozone checked the battery. I checked and cleaned the sidestand switch.
Anyways it threw a fit which has gotten progressively worse. Press the button and clicking a slight whirr.
I bumped the solenoid the last few times and started. But not today. Today she is stuck in a parking lot. I had to get rescued by my wife.
Overall very frustrating. But is there something im missing? im thinking bad starter.

Which starter? You can get parts for most.

Valeo? The magnets can come unglued and jam so it can't turn.

Okay so an update....if anyone cares. I ordered a lightly used starter. Turned out to be wrong. I swapped the internals and solenoid over cleaned and put it back to together. Got it to match up perfectly.
Starting with no problems. Thanks for the suggestions.

Why do you say that? I've seen no difference between the real deal and the knockoff, except for the missing label on the outside.
The knockoffs are so cheap, it doesn't make sense buying individual parts.
