Title: Convert spokes
Post by: nc43bsa on June 24, 2019, 02:44:58 AM
Does anyone have some spokes for a Convert front wheel?  I don't need all 40 of them, and they don't need to be perfect.  I need the nipples, also.

I'm mocking up a rear wheel for a project bike using the Convert front hub, and I want to work out the wheel, sprocket, and rotor spacing before I commit to a set of stainless Buchanan spokes.

I can return them after I get the stainless spokes.

You do know that convert spokes are stainless.

I may have some. Give me a rough dimension of  length and I'll check. Free if you cover shipping.

No, I didn't.

The spokes I took out definitely weren't.  Maybe it wasn't not a Convert wheel.  I bought it at the Daytona Vintage Bike auction.

Guzzi started using stainless spokes (and nickel-plated brass nipples) around '69, so everything with spokes afterwards would have them.

I'm not positive it was from a Convert, but the rest of the parts clearly were (parking brake caliper, timing cover, etc.)

FWIW, the rim was a WM3-18 Borrani.
