Title: Dream bike
Post by: nobleswood on June 25, 2019, 08:24:23 PM
Here's the bike I was looking for when I was getting back into motorcycles 7 years ago 🙄
At the price I can afford.
Oh well  :thumb:

Yeah the real problem is many of us need a Dream Body 25 year old body with 65+ year old brain to ride our Dream Bikes.

The price is not bad, but LM3 it aint no more. As much as I like all variations of LM's. a proper LM3 is a beautiful thing and I for one would leave it alone as it came from Mandello. As for comfort, I only sold my LM1 because of age related discomfort. Other Tonti LM's may not be much better in that end.

Seems like 10K miles is a bit early for a restoration, but who knows?

Why or why a white frame??? The rest doesn't look bad, and 4900 doesn't seem like a bad price to me.

Are you going to check it out? It's in your state.

A white frame works on a 90's Ducati 900SS or 851.

Although this red one is priced very attractively, it is heavily modified, to the owners personal taste.

Here is a pic of my white 1983 Le Mans III, parked next to a friends 84 version.

Some mods, Lafranconi mufflers and a Stucchi seat, but mostly an original machine.

Nice price. Looks like a good deal. I really like the LM3, but you know...  I do love the simple, stripped down look of the LMI...So I see the draw..  I can spend 18-20K for a LMI or 5K for a LM3, and make it look like one..  I gotta say im not digging the white frame though.

It’s an ideal rider, imho.  I’m not crazy about the white frame but I’d ride it into the ground as is and repaint it in 30 or 40 thousand miles when it needed refreshening.
