Title: SIDE CAR FOR THE 1400
Post by: Cruzerdog on June 28, 2019, 12:40:24 AM
I am happy to report that the DMC sidecar added to my   2015  1400 worked out great ..it  handles the extra weight  fantastic and can cruise it at 94 MPH  .and yes it does suck down the gas to do it

what price FUN?

I would like to see a side car added the the 1400 El Dorado   that would look cool too

The sidecar goes with the bike perfectly. It matches your toolbox too!

That's a beautiful rig, nicely done sir.

Three years ago I visited the shop and had a tour of the facility, it's an impressive operation. I was considering a chair for my GSA. Also had a look at Claude Stanleys  operation in Middleburg Pa.

What a gorgeous looking rig, very substantial looking sub frame  :thumb:

Glad to hear it's handling well, anxious to read some longer term riding impressions from you.

Did you have anything done to lighten the steering?

That looks great!!!   I am considering buying a good used 1400 in the next few months and putting the sidecar that I now have on the EV......on a 1400. The EV
does ok.........but with the heavy car and a heavy passenger, I could use more power.

Which DMC model is that.........did you purchase Jay's sub frame too ??

Fabulous!  I also think that sidecar would look good on an Audace!!

No  it handles quite well except for a little head shake at low speeds   .. might add something later  or tighten the head bolts  still testing

extremely  QUIET   and FAST  :copcar:.... the HD road king  is great  ...   but the DMC side car with a Shock and side door  ... GREAT--

They love  the door ...   no more lifting them in the Harley rig     and DMC  added a tie down and custom pad

That's really beautiful craftsmanship and matches perfectly to the bike.  Where is that shop located by the way that did all the work?

Is it a powered side car or just rolls along...not sure what the correct term is for a non powered side car (passive?).

Thanks!

sorry, I missed the other question. How is starting out in 1st gear? do you have to slip the clutch much.
