Some insight to a song we grew up with only we thought Hendrix wrote it https://youtu.be/PziiNzFWZog

But why didn't Joe shoot the guy he caught her with? Besides, OJ's lawyer would have got him off.
-
Wait , Hendrix recorded it also ? Next you're gonna be telling us he didn't write All Along the Watchtower
I had heard the original version probably 40 years ago , a friend was into finding the original versions of famous songs . The Beatles didn't write Twist and Shout , and Houndog didn't originate with Elvis .

One of my all time favorite tunes. Here's some of my often played covers:
Michael Burks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Due8Vcy7WE4

The Dude never shot the other Dude that was doing the dirty cuz, he would likely have a full time job snuffing people, he just got rid of the cause. DonG

Good to know, I thought it was a Hendrix original. He did stay true to the original, so that's artist-to-artist respect.

Or ask himself why she preferred the other bloke ?
You don’t like me..?
That’s ok, I’ll shoot you. (Now there’s a mindset unlikely to take hold..)

Didn’t the Isley Brothers do the original twist and shout?

The Top Notes, but they didn't write it. Phil somebody and Burt Burns wrote it, 1960ish. But the Isleys did bring it out to a big audience including some lads from Liverpool.

Simple acoustic guitar and his vocals are awesome.

"Hey Joe" was also covered, in a good rendition, by Deep Purple on one of their early albums.
