 Wait , Hendrix recorded it also ? Next you're gonna be telling us he didn't write All Along the Watchtower  :laugh:

 I had heard the original version probably 40 years ago , a friend was into finding the original versions of famous songs . The Beatles didn't write Twist and Shout , and Houndog didn't originate with Elvis .

Good to know, I thought it was a Hendrix original. He did stay true to the original, so that's artist-to-artist respect.

Didn’t the Isley Brothers do the original twist and shout?

The Top Notes, but they didn't write it. Phil somebody and Burt Burns wrote it, 1960ish. But the Isleys did bring it out to a big audience including some lads from Liverpool.

"Hey Joe" was also covered, in a good rendition, by Deep Purple on one of their early albums.
