New 2016 Norge. Same message every time I start up the bike.
I have gone into “settings” and scrolled to “change the code” and have entered user code 00000 a half dozen times, and the bike still gives me that irritating message every time I start it up. What gives?

Five zeroes is the default used by the manufacturer. As long as you use it you will keep getting the message. You need to change it to something else. I use the first five numerals of my birth date 21/02/57 (We go DD/MM/YY here. I believe in the US the days and months are reversed.) so all my bikes are coded 21025 because it's a number I'm highly unlikely to forget!

Thank you, Pete! It worked. You are the man!

And now we all know how to steal Pete's bikes.
Mwahahahahahaha!

So what's a munty old 2008 Griso, an equally munty 2009 Mana and a shagged out 2012 Stelvio that has had not one but TWO sets of flat tappets put through it worth? Answer, three fifths of half of less than bugger all! Anybody would have to be nuts to pinch them and if they did force the ignition they've immediately lost the value of the lock set which is probably half the value of the bikes!
If someone did steal them they'd probably come back and beg me to take them back!

I didn't say anyone would want to steal them...

MPH had a neat system. They'd change the code to the last five digits of the VIN prior to delivery. Nothing to memorize.

Or a drug addict. Sitting on grand juries lately, we're putting away addict after addict who stole something (a generator, a portable welder, an ATV, a new big-screen TV at All-Mart, a bike) while ON CAMERA, who took it to a pawnshop ON CAMERA, got the cash, and was just able to get his next fix into his arm or lungs before the cops showed up and nicked him.
Doesn't have to be "munt" for these mutts to try to get it .... Although I'll admit they're unlikely to research WG, find Bungedore on a map, and take your bikes .... !
