I'm truly curious. I've had MANY bikes, traded in parking lots, traded in dealers, bought & sold the same. I recently listed a ''17 Griso here & @ guzzighetto for $9500. At the high end I know. Got a couple nibbles but no follow up. One member fm So Cal wanted a Griso on the west coast. Seattle was to far. I'm near Reno. "To far." Did he mean w/in a 110 mile radius of his house?
Anyway, I fully understand depreciation of a bike (esp a niche m/c like MG) & mods , especially by dealers.
Here's my thinking & welcome different opinions.
With the clamoring recently over the discounted Grisos to $8K there was some frustration over the dealer add-ons.
Seemingly from $500-$1,800. Just the bike.
Here's my thinking. When I might buy a bike I try for a fair deal for both parties. I assess the condition of the bike, mileage & mods installed. I'll pay higher for a well cared for example & usually apply the 50% guideline for the installed/used mods. I DON'T try to find the cleanest example of m/c I want & then dismiss the mods & offer lowest trade in value for the m/c.
That method is NOT in The Code. For those unfamiliar with The Code research "Tiger" Edmonds (1,000,000 rider's) definition.
The decision is personal. Buy new, a fresh palette, break it in, research time to find mods, buy them @ near retail prices, spend on the 1st service adding known issues (mapping & greasing cost of service) or a used, well sorted, ready bike that you've expressed a desire for?
Surprisingly, the used alternative is almost always less expensive.
Fortunately, I thoroughly enjoy this Griso & offer it for sale due to relocating to north central Fla where I'm familiar with the riding. I don't need to part with it but having an '18 t120 Bonneville for longer runs I'd like another Ural (had an '05 fm '10 to '18 w/o 1 problem) which would be more compatible for the surrounding Fl roads & speed limits. (I ain't ready for a golf cart even @ 68.)
So, to my posting question, if you care to check my Griso's description on guzzighetto's Mercato di Griso section if you have nothing else to do........what do you think would be a fair price for this Griso? At least one inquiring mind would like to know. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I purchased my Griso in May from the original owner, a 2016 with 1,600 miles and in perfect shape. It had my muffler of choice already added (Mistral High Carbon) and a few other nice bits. It had full documentation and the first service done at a Guzzi dealership.
The seller had purchased the Griso new at the Richmond, VA Guzzi dealer in March 2017 for $12,850 OTD. The first service was performed at 800 miles to the tune of $471 Although the seller had owned Guzzi's in the somewhat distant past, and was intrigued by the Griso, he decided that it was just not his cup of tea, as he is more of a Ducati guy these days. The seller did appreciate that the bike was going to a Guzzi enthusiast who would take good care of it.
The price I paid was $7,000. And although I consider that a fair price I also realize I would most likely have difficulty selling it for what I paid if I was so inclined.
I made the 1600 mile round trip to Atlanta and back non stop to pick it up. I had a Beetle map purchased and ready to install upon its arrival. It has been a flawless machine!
Although your bike does have a number of nice accessories mine did not have, in my opinion your price is too high to invite nibbles, My Griso was advertised in CycleTrader for 7500 and sold for 7000. The seller only had a couple of nibbles at 7500, with the most interested party before me from Russia.

Daleroso, I'm would like to see you have a change of heart and keep the Griso.
I'm looking forward to meeting you and having some Griso rides in the area with you and a couple of other Griso riders that I know.
You would be fine on the Triumph, but the Griso would be better!
The Griso is just such a great all around bike, even for Florida.
Sorry I can't offer any help on what it is worth. Mine is a 2007 1100, so what I paid is not really applicable to your question.

Your bike is a choice unit, and has a number of desirable accessories. I would tailor the ad verbiage for a more general audience and post it on Cycletrader at $8500 and see what happens. Good pictures will be almost mandatory to have a good CycleTrader ad.

You guys have probably affected my decision. I appreciate it🤙 It was half hearted @ best. Ya know how some decisions you aren't sure of until you make it one way or the other & hopefully have time to change it if need be? This is probably one of those. I'm low tech so I'll leave things as is & probably/hopefully see you in Fl on it antmanbee. Should be in Silver Springs by the 21st ish.
Guess I'll just have to add the Ural down the road.

I would also add several pictures...we all like to look at the products and you've got a great bike there ( as a fellow Griso owner myself).
By the way, would you consider selling the Corbin seat separately?
Lots of nice add ons and customized items...I think considering the low miles...your asking price is not unfair, but it will probably end up at close to $8500-$8800 to entice a buyer.
I had bought my 2015 Red/Black Griso with only 572 miles on it (of which I had put the first 300 on to break it in as a favor to my friend), with full side bags and rear tank bag, piranha Dart screen and wheel stand for $8500 about 1.5 years ago from a good friend...by way of reference. Not as many farkles as yours, but still in pristine condition...

PJPR01. Thks for your input but no, I won't separate the mods fm the bike. That Corbin redo was $400 it's TOTALy unique but I only know how to send pics to a text. The 1st service Ropered was $984. 2 CRG lane splitters $200, grips (bargain of'em all $20, Stucci hugger $220, Das Motetec pieces $185, Onur's ring $78, Givi 3 liter $95, the 15 litre (unused) $165, Dart Pirhana $140, headlight guard $80, KD pegs $150 (? I don't recall @ the moment & to lazy to go to the folder & look lol), shift & frt pegs $25. I think that's it. NOT complaining just saying. We all do it, it's fun & then look back later or @ sale/trade time & think WOW! What the???????

Cool...no worries! Thought you might have the original seat perhaps to sell with the bike and would let the Corbin go. Have a Corbin on my Norge and it's fantastic.not that I mind the stock seat on the Griso, but I'm sure the Corbin is much more comfortable.
By the way, to post pictures when you create a message, just look below the text box while typing and click on the "Add Image to Post" link, go select the pics from your computer or your smart phone, and click upload once they have gone to 100% on the upload, and voila, there are your pics in the post.
If you do keep it...hope you get to enjoy it a bunch, even in flat Florida...maybe a trip to the Keys to visit Jimmy Buffett and Hemingway's on the Griso would make for some good travel pics!

I guess it also comes down to how fast do you want to sell it. I doubt anyone would give you $8K+ for it. It seems the $6K-$7K range is good for selling a Griso is a reasonable amount of time. [note: I have not looked at your ad, don't know about your bike, not dissing your bike, just speaking in general used Griso prices]
As for the accessories, when I look at a used bike I do add 50% for each accessory that I would actually buy myself. So a $800 exhaust that I would buy, figure increases the value by ~$400. But if a bike had a $1000 luggage system on it and I want zero luggage on my bike, then I would add $0 in extra value for that. Sure I guess I could to sell the luggage system for $300 or something but that's a real pain in itself.
And I think the mega Griso sales over the last year might have a Griso in the garage of everyone that wanted one. :grin:
So if you don't mind waiting, maybe try $8500 nego. If you want to sell it fairly quickly then $6995.
I looked at used ones for ~9 months ... saw mostly bad examples in the $4000 (2 valve head) to $8.5K range. I ended up getting a brand new one in the "fire" sale time frame ... mine worked out to ~$10,500 not counting the DMV fees (which would need to be paid either with a new bike or a used bike from a private party). So for me, a used bike for $8500 or a brand new with with 2 year warranty for $10,500 was an easy decision. And the dealer was 20 minutes from my house and some of these used ones were 500-1500 miles away.

:thumb: Not any more...lived there for 2 years 1995-1997...but I enjoyed my time there. I worked in Coral Gables and lived in Pembroke Pines and Weston. Seems like a lifetime ago! Just remembered lots of fun trips around the state...over to Marco Island, Naples area, up and down the east coast a bit as well...but mostly in the Miami area. Living in Houston these days.

Typically the best way to recoup money from add ons and accessories is to remove them and sell them separately. The bike needs to come with a seat. The oem seat or the Corbin is usually worth the same. Many other accessories follow a similar pattern. They’re worth $0.10 on the $1.00 paid for them. Accessories that the majority of owners would likely want could be a different scenario. But rarely 50%.
Return the Griso to as close to stock as you’re comfortable with and put a realistic price on it. Then sell your modifications separately. I’ve always done that and it’s always worked out great.

Yes, that's what I almost always do. I appreciate all the feedback. Think I'll just hang on to it & wait & see what hurricane Damion does. Neither of us are in a hurry.
