Anyone have a definitive answer on all-metal, or not?

We’re all wondering the same thing that you are.

Someone here must have one..!
Most of us are over 50’s males. Surely the standard visit to the doctor for guys of our vintage, would result in the opportunity to purloin a slightly used borescope..!
A bit of a touch up with the vapour blaster and you’d be none the wiser.. :thumb:

Dude, you crack me up. If it’s going into gasoline, why clean it?

Yes Peter, I have a boroscope.
No I dont have access to a V85.
Feel like a ride up to Brisbane area when you get yours?

I have both a endoscope and a V85TT and here is what you can see of the filter

Half the filter is obscured so there is no way to know if it is plastic or metal.

If you’d like to test it out, I’m game.
Would probably look like the images from the opening credits of the old Dr Who series...
I’ve already had my official examination.
The Doctor snapped his glove on and extended one digit prior to the trip in..
I asked him could he use two digits.
When asked “why..?”
I said
“I’d like a second opinion...”
Boom..Tish..!

You don’t want your bike to end up running like s**t..!

My memory of the event is a little hazy, but I seem to recall he “cracked me up” on the table..

I dont have a V85 but due to the funny $h*t I'm

Huzo,
That brought a tear to my eyes.
Lets not mention it again...

Lucky you. I asked for a second opinion and he told me I was ugly...

Thanks! From what I’m seeing it looks like the more cylindrical “all metal”. Also looks like the filter sits in a carrier, as opposed to just a wire tie, to keep it from moving around. Correct hose and clamp.
Could they have actually gotten it right??

Lucky he was talking about your arse end..
Imagine if he’d seen your head...!

I don't think it's listed as a separate part number.
This seems odd. Please tell me I'm wrong!

Cam: When I bought my yclept 'racer' I had Jim change the 1/2 & 1/2 fuel filter for an all metal version as part of the 600 mile service. The original was already swollen. He told me the big blocks all had metal fuel filters. Pricing them the difference was less than 3 bux. The kicker (at the time), was MG would no longer replace damaged fuel filters. Instead you were bound to purchase the entire Fuel pump and filter as an assembly. Those metal fuel filters are available from several sources. I believe there is a 'list' of replacement filter brands on this site.
I regret not having the skills to find it. Good fortune, R3~

I know Bud, I replaced the half plastic one in my V7. From the looks of it, it appears to be all metal in the new small block V85. Sent the photo to Hamlin who agreed and compared it to the setup in the Stelvio.

Cam, what is the trick to getting the gearbox plug back in ? Do I have to stand on my head ???

Small hands and dexterity! Hamlin did mine while I supervised with a beer. You can always drop that monstrosity of a crossover, but it's going to be a pain in the balls taking the muffler off and everything else.

Thanks again— will try and pay the twelve year old next door to do it...

When my daughter came home from school it took her all of two minutes to get it started—- I think I need guidance—-
