Title: 96 California in Dallas, Anybody Know IT?
Post by: ozarquebus on September 12, 2019, 11:10:30 AM
I am looking at that 96 California in Dallas on Facebook Marketplace:

It looks like a good deal and I am only 6 hours away on the slab, but the poster is a used car consignment dealer who knows next o nothing about the bike and will not divulge name of owner.

Is there a chance that another forum member from DFW TX region knows this bike?

I'm looking at the web site of Motor Werks and dang if I didn't recognize Keith from decades ago when I lived in the MetroMess. I gave Keith a call and he said the Guzzi was owned by a man that had two other Guzzis and got too old to ride so he was selling them. The bike has a few minor scratches for the age.

Keith said it was just him and the owner at the shop and if they are waiting on a customer or got a bike running they don't/can't answer the phone on the first ring. I don't have a dog in this hunt-just passing on the info I have.

Thanks, Ken,
If it doesn't sell this weekend, maybe I can get down there and have a look. It sounds like those guys are ok at Motor Werks that used to be called Perry's. I pestered whoever answered the phone with a lot of questions and they communicated pretty well and didn't get mad, even if they did not have any history on the bike.
