Austin is getting the hots for a Tonti LeMans.. he fell in love with George's red LM4 at the Ky. rally. I asked him if he'd ever seen a Marlboro.. but can't find a picture to show him.

You mean a LeMans SE? Google is your friend ...

Is that a white bike with a red frame? Sorry no help, sold mine twenty years ago...

Ahh, there's a good picture. Thanks, Steve.. :thumb:

A copy of an old non-digital image of my '89 purchased new in 1990. Funny I never heard it called that moniker.
Oddly enough also, there had been an '89 for sale on CL in New England for some time, went looking and it is no longer listed.
Ciao,
Rob

Good, we could use more advocates for these underappreciated beasts!
Though, I also would equate the SE to being the Marlboro colors. First thing one of my old buddies from Italy said when I showed a picture of my SE, was Ah, the Marlboro.

Went looking for that too, no longer there. I think they were asking 4500 if I remember right and looked all original too...

Call me weird, but still my fav in styling of all the LM series. Look "faster" than the earlier versions.
-
Yeah, I like the LM's too!

Chuck,
I just noticed an '85 1000 LeMans over on the MGNOC FB page...
FYI, posted on 10_14. Asking 4500. wicked low miles.
Best,
Rob

This is an 18" front wheel Lemans... and accordingly, it can work OK with the front tire tread shown in my graphic. But if it were a 16" front wheel bike (like I think the '85 thru '88 model originally was - unless someone converted it) - then this tread pattern may be a mistake, re stability at speed.

Remember, anyone can ask any price they wish when selling. The actual value is the selling price. If the bike does not sell, the value is $0.00.

My ‘90 LeMans V is the bike I like best of my multiple Guzzis. I’ve often thought that I’d like to add one of the red/white LMs to the stable if I saw one at a reasonable price. Don’t know that I’d pay $8k for one, though.

Lemans SE has C. R. 'box with tall first gear. Harder to launch...

I had a perfect black LeMans V for a while, but it was a museum piece. I hated to ride it. <shrug>

Hi Tom,
Good to see you made it through all that weather that has come up the coast the last several weeks!
The pic was taken in 2011 by Zoom Zoom shortly after I got the bike from Jack Arnold, the MGNOC Ohio Rep.

That'll always be "Jack's bike" to me, but it's in good hands. :thumb:
I have pix of it from when Jack used to bring it to Camp Carlo at bike week.

I've been told to take good care of it for the next guy! :thumb:

Yep. That's the way antique airplanes are, too. You don't 'own' them because they'll live on after you're gone. You just maintain them for the next keeper.

Looks like the '89 for 4500 has been relisted https://vermont.craigslist.org/mcy/7007176431.html
