Was a windy ride up that way when I went West through Nebraska.

My strongest memory of Nebraska is thumbing through back in the '80's.  Man, it's hot there in the summer and by some strange metaphysical disruption, Nebraska is about 5000 miles long when you're trying to catch a ride.

As always, lovely photos.  I wish I had an eye like that.  I could quite easily stumble past the Venus de Milo and think 'somebody's mislaid the arms on this silly bint'.

My strongest memory of Nebraska is...

For most all of these, I parked the bike on the shoulder, climbed over a barb wire fence, and walked at least beyond the first hill until I couldn't see the road behind me.  There's about a fifty yard buffer--next to just about any road--that has been influenced by the road and traffic and highway department mowers.  You need to get beyond all that for any photographs.

Imagine being caught out there in a blizzard....There is a book called the "Children's Blizzard" about a great 1880's suddend blizzard that caught people off guard in the Great Plaines...It's an intersting read...

When I lived in the Montana Rockies, the ranchers from Eastern Montana would talk about going out to find and dig out the cattle after a snowstorm.
