After reading the topic about if a v7 sport seat will fit a 850T, I thought I should contribute to the other part of this, will a V7 sport tank fit a T3/G5/SP1000?

Here are the pictures of an original v7 sport tank on my G5.
This is with an original convert seat with steel pan:

As you can see the seat is about 10mm too long to fit with the v7 tank without modifying the seat bracket, also the front of the seat is wider than the v7 tank is at the rear creating a weird gap.
I also fitted a second hand SP1000 seat, but the seat pan is not original as it is plastic. Does anyone know what brand this seat pan is?

This seat surprisingly does fit without any modifications, and the difference in width between the seat and tank also seem less (or it at least is less noticable?).
I should note that the sp1000 seat is attached with the more round convert rear bracket, I do not know if the sp1000 seat bracket is different in length.

pretty sure that the difference is in the seat bracket : I've done exactly the same conversion........r e pop LM 1 / v 7 tank on a T3 frame with the "comfy " Sp type seat but the original T3 seat bracket ( same as the sp one and not the california style). I assumed it would be plug and play but like you found that the seat was just a tad too long...not a big deal as it needed recovering and as the bike was still in pieces simply fitted the tank to the frame and gave it all to the seat man so that the fit would be good.My seat like yours is the plastic base one...yours looks like it has the Luigi Stucci logo on it.
