Title: When they are right they are great!

I finally got a chance to ride my 1400 tourer and being unable to find the time for the past 5 months (building a house is time consuming). It was sunny and 64degrees in central NC so my son and I took a 50 mile ride through the country side.
It’s simply mind boggling how wonderful these 1400s are. The gears shift smoothly, without a “CLUNK” and the motor is as quite and smooth as any Honda Goldwing and not criticizing the Wing as it’s a great ride. It’s easy to forget the magnificent power curve these engines produce but a simple twist of the throttle reminds one that you’re on a beast!!

although i really love my v85 and think it is the best bike for me at this time, i do miss that big, honkin lump.  that bike completely belied its size when in motion provided the tires were not overly worn, and that roll on was fantastic.
