So general consensus is using 60ml of oil in my lemans 1 fork leg as opposed to the 120ml in the manual. My question is, how much goes in the damper itself? Can’t seem to find any info online. When I took the dampers out of the forks they were about 1/2” from the top with oil when I took the cap off. So I have 60ml in the fork leg and not sure how much in the damper
Thx

Thx. 70ml in each damper and 60ml in each fork. Still not sure why the manual states 120ml in the fork

Maybe to make them "extra firm" - there's not going to be much "air gap" with 120 cc of atf in each. Even less air gap with FAC dampers which are a bit larger than the original "screen door closers".
In the dampers, I would do the same as when I refill the original sealed cartridges - fill it up with whatever amount it takes to make sure there's no "dead spot" (undamped travel) and doesn't get burped out when the damper is fully compressed.

Hey Charlie can you explain your process in a little more detail for filling the damper? This is new territory for me. one damper is installed in one fork as of now. Do I need to remove it and take off the spring?

When I've filled dampers that were removed from the forks and springs.
I've only ever filled the original "sealed" dampers, not FAC dampers. With those, after I've drilled and drained them, I just use a tiny funnel (cap from a gear oil bottle) to refill it. I push the damper rod the whole way in and then pull it out slowly as I fill it, keeping the "funnel" filled the whole time, drawing the oil in. Once it's filled I cover the fill hole with my thumb and push the damper rod back in. If I've filled it with too much, the excess will be pushed out.
FACs will likely require a different procedure.

Thx Charlie, ill rephrase my question specifically to refilling the FAC damper

Maybe something was lost in translation. 120 ml for both legs got translated as 120 for each leg?
