Picked up this barely used 29HP Kymco i300

because the GF wanted to ride without shifting and her being so short she could barely straddle anything else on two wheels to touch ground. I've had to shave the seat down already. I took it for a test ride before we purchased and having less to do to ride it was harder than I had envisioned it to be. Not having to shift or use my feet for anything nor having a neutral throttle without moving was quite unfamiliar. Love the under seat storage and FI. Tires cost 1/2 as much as MC's and this has a 120/80x14 F and 150/70x13 rear - so good tires size. Not the 12 inch tires many peeps think of with a scooter.
Looking forward to my scooter learning curve. Surprised this is used by many for not only commuting but "touring" too.

AFAIK the Kymco 300i series come in 250cc and 300cc flavors, though there may be various models. I wrote the manual for the US Xtown 250i and Xtown 300i.

Roy, it says 300. Think curvaceous Kawasaki 300cc MC.. This Scooter has more than enough get up and go for freeway and touring duty..

I had major fun on motor scooters: Honda's 250cc (Reflex) & 600cc (Silverwing), and the remarkable Yamaha 400cc (Majesty).
Anything 250cc and up is traffic-ready, but of the three the most amazing was the Yammie.

Truth be told, WHEN IT RAN, I enjoyed my Honda Helix 250 scooter more than any other commuter (except the Miata.) Very comfy, multiple leg positions available, and great wind and rain protection. The downside was, too little power for the freeway (without a tailwind, lol. ) AND, the little turd needed more maintenance than any motorcycle I have owned. It was a 2005 model. I think a newer fuel injected scooter would be the shyte. I am considering selling one of my Bonnevilles and getting a Burgman 650. I'd love to go on a back-road cross country on a big scooter.

Me too. I met a couple riding cross country on a couple of the big Yamahas and they loved them. The Burgman looks like a great ride.

I was going to buy an older Burgman from my local Euro dealer a few months ago. They had a decent price on it, I offered a bit over Blue Book for it which they accepted. However after they added all their fees and dealer prep etc, the cost doubled. I walked. I would have liked to have had it. I am rebuilding and old Yamaha 125 instead.
