Title: Brake Levers
Post by: Bulldog9 on January 29, 2020, 06:32:47 PM
Question on Brake and Clutch levers....

All the stock levers on my Guzzi's are adjustable, but even at the adjustment for least amount of reach, I'd like less, particularly on the clutch levers for all, but also brake lever on the MGX. I'm looking for levers that can be adjusted for shorter reach than the stock. I look at AF1 and other vendors, but cant see what the adjustment range is. Don't want to waste greenbacks and end up with same reach. I could care less about looks.

This is less of a problem on the V7 at #4 setting (closest), but would appreciate them about 1/4-1/2 closer on the MGX and Griso.

Also related, is there a functional difference or advantage to the short levers over long?

I have used Pazzo shorty levers on several bikes. The machine work is excellent, the adjustability range is quite broad, with about 7 positions.

The reason I like the short levers is that I typically cover the brake and clutch with two fingers and only need those two fingers to operate them. That way, my hands stay in the same basic position all the time. Personally, I set them kind of far out, so that full deployment of either lever will never make contact with the two fingers that remain on the bars.
