I added these Emgo mufflers (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007Y9NXQS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) to my 2000 Jackal (came with straight pipes and ran poorly) and recently switched to K&N pod filters to open up some real estate under the seat. The bike came with a Power Commander. Currently I have it turned nearly all the way to rich for the entire rev range using the button interface on the commander. It seems to be running well aside from the occasional hiccup when letting the clutch out after it's heated up. I eventually worked my way increasing the richness based on hiccuping and the appearance of the plugs.
The power commander has been good for the mean time but I would like to remap for the mods in the long run. I'd appreciate any advice on getting started with Tunerpro/Guzzidiag and any maps that might work with my setup. I'm new to tuning so appreciate any input here.
Thanks!

It looks like this post got lost in the shuffle, I'm giving it a subtle bump to the top, because I'm hoping if all my plans stay on the rails, to be doing maps on my V11 and CalVin before spring; I think the Jackal may have a different ECU, but some of the info will be the same.
To the OP, if you haven't done it already; there is plenty of reading on guzzidiag on the new and improved guzzidiag tutorial that Beetle posted for us, he's also the guy that you should be reaching out to for maps, imho. here's the link https://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=96957.0
You should find a link in that post for the Lonelec Cables, would probably be a good idea to get a set, but I'll defer to the experts because I think noticed a post recently, describing different cables for different bikes, fwiw.
ps, I think you mentioned a power commander, be prepared for some advice to scrap it, lol
Good luck

Back when the Jackal was new, the Power Commander was the only resource. If you still want to use it, send it to Todd at Guzzitech, and he'll map it for you.

Wonder if beetle has done any further work on the ECU's from that era ?

I bought my 02 Cal EV second hand with 70K miles. It has K&N air filters and Bub exhaust. After about a year it developed fueling issues which turned out to be a bad TPS. Replaced with the Harley unit. At the time all I knew was to adjust it by ear. I know better now and learned to adjust it with a digital multi meter. But it ran terrible. So I finally got guzzidiag and the cables. Found the CO trim was set at -5. Made a call to a friend and he said it should be set at +30. WOW! My bike runs GREAT! Better than it ever has before and it's at 123K now.

correct, it will never run right if the TPS is bad and it probably is at that age. mines (02 EV) set at 540 and +30 on the trim and runs fine.

I'm in Chuck's camp. Keep the PC and get it dialed in.

I've got a couple of maps he's welcome to try. First thing to check is the CO trim, however.

Ok, I am just back in the game with an 02 EV... so there is software I can get that will allow me to read data on my bike?
What should I search for?
interesting

Here you go.. https://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=96957.0
Worked awesome getting my 02 stone running. It ran so poorly when I got it, it was hardly rideable. Beetle helped me out with some maps that got it up and runing good enough for the season. That reminds me that once I get done doing all the repairs on the bike this winter Ill be looking to send the guy some money, and get the running polished as good as I know it can!

Wow, thanks for the bump, Kelly!
I've been on a mission to straighten up my setup so would be happy to chuck the PC if possible!
Thanks everyone for the replies, I look forward to checking out your maps, Beetle!

Before you spend time and effort making a bunch of changes that you may not need, give the bike a good basic tune up first; ie valves, TPS, TB balance, CO trim; once you do that, you may be completely satisfied with the way the bike is running; if not, then start making changes, jmho fwiw.
Good luck

^^^Yes , the stock mapping on those bikes is really good . If the Jackal is running the stock crossover the tuning won't change much with the Emgo mufflers , the crossover does about 90% of the silencing . If it has a straight crossover with the pod filters it MIGHT need some tuning .
