Title: A reminder of the WG culture
Post by: oldbike54 on February 17, 2020, 10:58:27 AM
Just a note to clarify a few things about the culture here , and the spirit of the rules .

First , this place is and always has been a campfire scenario . There is no rule against NGC , or non-motorcycle related topics , simply stay away from click bait , religion , and politics . Not just national politics , avoid state and local stuff also , this isn't hard , and it keeps the peace .

Second , topics about tents , camping , whatever , are all part of the experience . One of the best parts of belonging to this culture is all of the rallies, and while we see a few more camp trailers these days , the majority of rally attendees still camp .

Third , remember why we are here , WG gives us a real time place to socialize , exchange knowledge about a wide variety of topics , and even on occasion help a member get a motorbike sorted .

Thanks to all of you for making this place special .

 Fair dinkum

 Going for a ride ,

 Dusty

Amen!

I can honestly say I have never seen even a single post here that I would consider nasty or out of line.

Kudos to all participants but primarily to Dusty's leadership.

Speaking of tents and rally's, remember the 2012 rally at Elkader when you had to bail out the tent?

I seem to remember a lot more rubbish at actual, real campfires than ever appears here. Might well be the effluence of the inkahol.

I would suggest adding firearms to the no-no list.  It isn't the issue of guns itself, it's just that gun threads always seem to gravitate toward politics and/or the sport of killing wild animals.

Luap did exactly that about a year ago .

I was there and remember watching him do that. I was camped about fifty yards away but was lucky enough to avid the same fate but not by much.
