Nicely executed, but let's see: Chopped front fender, removed rear fender, fat rear tire, black painted rims, black motor, solo seat, tiny fairing, tiny indicator lights, custom tank.
Is there a check list at the back of the "Cafe bikes for Dummies" book? Because I couldn't help thinking that I've seen this bike before.
-
Very nice! Only thing I would do different is shitcan the alligator seat. A nice, clean black leather cover would match the bike better, IMHO.

I firmly believe that if you are going to make something look fast, then make some mods to make it GO fast.
I'd have liked to read about some engine mods.

Can anyone here say something bad about this T3 rebuild?

Challenge accepted. I no like.
I dig full length, functional fenders.
Please don’t chop my fenders, bro.
-
The main negative factor is that it is not mine!
-
LOVE it!
-
You know what mama says?
-
I don't dislike it but it has been done quite a lot.
I'd be happy if I built that though I wouldn't have built it because I like riding too much.
-
Nice enough I suppose, if you like that sorta thing
Just another cafe, rinse and repeat ad nauseam. I'm starting to come around to Pete's thinking in this regard.
I really don't like the flyscreen, the crocodile saddle does nothing for me, nor do the pipes which seem overly long and unsuited
Don't get me wrong I appreciate the work and it will no doubt appeal to many just not my cuppa
-
too shiny. needs patina. rims should be silver!
But still an awesomely beautiful bike!
-
Yeah no worries, I’ll oblige..
The headers look like they were salvaged from the plumbing of a demolished building...(shithouse..)
The rear of the seat is a completely different style to the tank...( lovely rack, no arse...)
Front tyre looks oversized.
If the amount of staunchion exposed, is an indication of the fork travel, it’d be as rough as guts.
Nice workmanship though..
-
(ahem) Momma said..
Nice workmanship
-
It looks like a nice job of copying the other hundreds like it. For me, I want functional fenders, the comfort of more upright bars and foot boards. I guess my reaction is "meh".

You've definitely have come to the right place with a challenge like that..
uuuuuuuummmm, hate the muffler tips? That work for you?
Love the blue/silver color combo, buffed alum vs black chrome things looks great. Love the looks can't ride them past 15 miles w the stretch to the bars.
It almost seems a right of passage to build a tonti cafe, and they seem very similar after a while. Still a beautiful bike.
-
Um, somebody spent a lot of time and money to make a perfectly good motorcycle into a pretty, but slow, heavy, and uncomfortable roadburner wannabe. Not much different of an end product than the 10' long choppers that I built forty years ago. All show and no go. At least they could've hopped up the motor some...

this site is a bunch of grumpy old farts who I cant believe even get get joy from motorcycling except racking up miles on their stock bikes while looking down their noses at others.
-
I'm a really grumpy old fart too, but I like this bike overall.

Well, I “get get” plenty of joy from motorcycling! Remember that the thread started with a dare to say something bad about the bike.
Well, I joyfully said I don’t like chopped fenders.

Agreed!! I would LOVE to show up unannounced at a Guzzi Rally or local Bike Night on that beauty!

The bike, she is beautiful.
Maybe air filtration?
Again, BEAUTIFUL.
-
It would look 100% better with someone on it, blasting by wide open , looking at a motorcycle statically does nothing for me. DonG
-
One small bump and the forks will bottom out.

I don’t own a stock bike.
Also just because I point out the glaring deficiencies in a finished product, it doesn’t mean I’m grumpy, I actually get a lot of joy from it.

hahahaha
maybe lol
I like it quite a lot, esp the tank and seat.... Not a fan of the mufflers but otherwise, cool bike
-
I don’t like the bars and the way they are mounted is cobby.

We're not all like that.
At least one of us is a virtue - signaling prig who doesn't understand the concept of a "discussion forum" and who melts into a whiney puddle if anyone disagrees with him.
But we'll soldier on regardless.

Maybe air filtration?
What for?
The heat pump in its garage already has a filter, I'm guessing...

The only thing I don't care for from a styling perspective is the oval side covers on the triangular frame section. Even with that, I sure wouldn't turn them down if they wanted to give it to me!
-

100% agreed. The only two things I'd change is put in a filler strip around the headlight, and lengthen the sidestand to sit like it does but without the block under it.
Beautiful execution.

That comment should be directed toward the bloke who designed the pipes and seat.
Can y’all not see the visual imbalance ?
The headers look like they’ve been thrown together from drainpipe and plumbers fittings, the bike’s lines are curved but the headers are cobbled together from straight sections and bends.
The seat is so truncated, the rear plate has to extend out like the flap on a letterbox.
Actually here in Oz, you’d stand a workmanlike chance of being booked for having an unreadable plate.
Fix all that and change the “S” on the tank to an “F” and we’re getting close..
More importantly, did I win the dare ?

Tonti Guzzi's have good bones. It's not that hard to make them pretty. Put Cindy Crawford in a dress from JC penneys and she's still going to look good.
This has been done to death. First two I recall are the Thrasher from EP&F in Prescott, AZ and George Dockray's 850T. /these were done probably over 20 years ago.

I dare you to not like this T3
With an opening like that you'd think the OP had a sense of humor.
In my opinion, it's a nice start to a good bike - it's clean and not rusty or corroded. Not into black wheels, 2" of front suspension, truncated fenders and uncomfortable ergos. But all that can be fixed to make a rideable useable machine again. And it'll probably be available pretty cheap at some future date, just like choppers back in the day. At least the frame wasn't mutilated in the process like they did with chopperss

Well I do have a sense of humor. I thought that was obvious.

I think it's gorgeous. I wouldn't ride it though, as I don't like a lot of attention.
-
A gorgeous build but a little busy and a little cliche. When did bike descriptions get like Architectural Digest articles of stars homes?
-
I really like it. For that kind of bike, I think it is very nice. This is a wealthy guy toy. Take it to the local pub on the nicest of days. Maybe a quick run through the twisties. Back to the stable, hand the keys to your man to wipe down and tuck away until next time. Dreams.

.
Not really. There's nothing all that special going on here. Take a super clean tonti of your choosing, switch out the tank, seat, handle bar, pipes, a little back yard fabrication, and there you go. Other than the front end travel, there's no reason it couldn't be ridden daily.
Speaking of frames, I wonder if this uses a later frame with the taller steering neck, therefore the lack of travel.

How about some air filters? Whenever someone builds a hot cafe sans air filters I always come away thinking this guy is not going to ride this bike very much.

The V7 Sport and 850-T both came from the factory without air filters and folks rode those quite a bit.
-
It's each to their own. Do what you want within the resources and/or talent you have. Although not near as radical, when I bought my T-3 it was to be and is my bike canvas to do as I wish and I have. I like it but some others may not so much so be it. I could post a picture of what I consider a stunningly beautiful women and other would shrug and wonder what I was seeing in her and visa versa. Life brings many tastes.

I liked what Lannis said about the filters, I thought it was hilarious and true!
-
Rather than an yclept café bike it's much more a Bobber. I dislike that name alone. The fat tires are a waste, along with the dinky frt fender. Most annoying? Oversized tires. At least the wheels are not matte finished; but wheels are the most important part of a mc. They should stand out. Polished and sparkling - w/a blue pin stripe? Alternate focal points add interest! A more robust front end would balance the profile. Don't hide the calipers. Ditch the extender tubes on the mufflers. The Eagle should stand alone. Ditch the over sized, bulky oval - it relates to nothing. A more elliptical blue pin stripe? R3~
BTW: Croc skin ain't no Air Hawk!
