Title: "...I got me a bike that's as big as a WHALE!"
Post by: JJ on March 01, 2020, 02:16:35 PM: Today, here in in Vortex-Land, 65 degrees, partly cloudy with some sun, so it was high time to motor "The White Whale", (aka Moby Dick), down to historic downtown Cottonwood for a little lunchie-poo at Osteria, (Merlin Vineyards), for their outstanding Ragu pasta and local red wine. Wonderful!! :thumb: :cool: :smiley: :wink:

* Long wheelbase and LOW, (25 inches off the ground) - I added the 1" factory lowering kit
* Fast, smooth, comfortable - electric windshield, two-stage heated hand grips / seat
* 47-48 MPG consistently / fuel-injected / 6-speed / belt drive / ABS brakes
* 871 pounds, but it loses 200 pounds the minute you let the clutch out in first gear / exceptional handling
* 12K miles / Zero issues
* Discontinued in 2017...mine is a 2014 from new

No Steel Cut Oats at NOON time! (lol)

I remember when I visited Ireland years ago, they had oatmeal with "Whiskey Cream" in the morning...The Irish - imagine that! It was quite tasty and SMOOTH!! :wink: :thumb: :cool:

Ya mean "tinnnn roof-rusted!"

Rented a vision in Vegas with my buddies who rented Harleys. I smoked em all day! Very comfortable and suprisingly sporty for their size.

The Vision was the best by a mile. WAY more nimble than it looks with a better motor/transmission for whatever reason than the H-D wannabe bikes they made.

Victory is a great bike and the Vision has grown on me over the years.

Victory was discontinued by Polaris in 2017...and that's correct...they put ALL their eggs / resources / money in the INDIAN basket...

I ride my Victory when out with Harley riding friends. They are always mesmerized watching that big rear tire in the corners and it never fails to annoy them how much attention it gets when parked. 😆

The Victory Cross Country is possibly the best “bagger” of all time, unbelievable handling for a bike of that size.

Polaris only killed the brand as the real money is in clothing and accessories, which Indian sells way more of in spades, not due to sales volume. My Harley riding buddies spend a fortune on clothing and gear to look like walking billboards for the company. Lol!

Thanks! Here are some more photos from my recent 250+ mile Road Trip down to the Valley (north Scottsdale) with rest stops at the historic Rock Springs Cafe and Saloon...the "original" stage coach stop from 1918 between Phoenix and Prescott.

Yes, there is a natural springs there where they watered the horses!

Post by: TN Mark on March 07, 2020, 02:53:34 PM: Another member of the white whale club here having owned my beautiful 2012 Victory Gloss Pearl White Cross Country Tour since new in March of 2013. It’s by far the best and most capable motorcycle I’ve ever owned. And yea, it’s a keeper.

The CCT lowers were relocated a few years ago to the attic. I prefer the Victory forged bars with JTD inserts. And the trunk has been hanging on the garage wall soon after my wife’s last ride of 2019. It will go back on whenever she’s ready for her next ride. She quickly falls asleep back there and I barely know she’s on the bike.

It still sounds to me like she says something about “Henry.” I don’t hear “tin roof rusted.”
