Title: Guzziology-Why are old versions selling for more?
Post by: berniebee on March 03, 2020, 04:29:20 PM
I've started to look around for one. Brand new copies of  the latest version sell for $49.99 + shipping, while older, used versions with oil stains and rips have higher asking prices.

Do old versions have info that is not in the new versions?  Should I buy a bunch of new ones, throw them around my garage  and resell them for a profit?

Guzziology are like a fine wine, they mellow as they age,and are worth more ! Heck, I dont know, people are crazy in what they ask for used stuff? Beats me.
Rick.

Preppy, Gen-X, posers driving up prices.  Too damn lazy to walk out to shop, slather some oil, grease, never seize and brake fluid on their hands and man-handle their own book and then kick it around the shop for 10 minutes.  Same with pre-faded ripped jeans.

Asking price and selling price are usually a different number.

I bought a copy teas sho and last February ended up with another copy that came with an SP1000 I bought. I did the same as Bassa99 and gifted it to a member on here. So while they priceless sometimes they are not wort a whole lot.

Guzziology sure saved me from a lot of trial and error things.

More than worth the price. The guy I acquired the CX from had a copy and he wouldn't let it go w/the machine, maybe another old Guzzi in his future.

I would recommend anybody interested in owning and maintaining a vintage Guzzi acquire one.

My .02c

Not Guzziology, but probably a good buy if only for sentimental reasons.

I'm pretty sure the "Tips" books were the cause of all the bodges you see on old Guzzis..
