Title: BMW woman rider market
Post by: pehayes on March 08, 2020, 02:14:02 PM
Has anyone seen the recent flash of TV commercials for women riding BMW motorcycles?  Lots of money being spent on that market.  Good commercials.  Forget the pink stereotypes.

Yes Sir, I noticed that.  Seen a couple of the commercials on TV. BMW's demographics must be changing ala Harley, they are looking to bring in some new blood, apparently.

if they really wanted to sell bike they could start bringing in base models instead of advertising a base price then never importing them. maybe that's why the have all sorts of 2019 rebates now. Oh and don't get me started on the lets add $600 for GPS ready BS!

My wife has been riding BMWs probably for 10+ years now - although not specifically marketed to, back then their lighter F series with the option of low seat height certainly appealed to that market.....and still does. I’ve not seen the recent ads but then I don’t watch much telie.

Last year market data showed women ridership grew at an all time high so, just marketing towards the new audience. Can't blame a company for trying to make money where they can.
