V11 Sport Scura
"limit edition #600 of #600 last one made".
Does not mention mileage. Would this be a good ride if sorted out?

Scura is a fantastic V11...note however this guys has mixed pictures, some of them not the actual bike he's selling.
You'd want eyes on this, take it for a ride first...but the Scura is a great bike, very different from other Guzzi's...in a class by itself.
-
That's a really pretty looking bike
-
Great bike, one of the most badass V 11 sports. I remember an issue with the "Ram" clutch that was pricey to sort...
Rick.

I owned # 599 for a couple of years. The thing was a beast! I loved it for the 1st 150 to 200 miles or so then I couldn't wait to get off the damn thing. You're so hunkered over you have to keep your neck bent all the way back to see where you're going. And I wasn't willing to do all the mods to make it comfortable, spend all the $$ then loose all that's invested when selling. But I sold it after riding it for two years and got every penny back so what the hell?? Fun while it lasted. I like my LM III more!

DO research the exploding clutch phenomenon

"Fully optioned"? I don't think any options were offered unless you count the bubbling engine paint.

+1 The mighty Scura is a great bike! This one looks very well taken care of! If it runs as good as it looks - go for it!!
-
You would probably have a hard time finding a nicer one for that price. The ODO is showing 14K, which means it just might still have the single plate clutch. The Mighty Scura isn't as pretty, but I wouldn't sell it for that. <shrug>
It's the last of the *real* Guzzis..

kirkemon: I’d definitely check the files over on the V11 LeMans Forum. Good info on what to be aware of regarding common problems and fixes.

Jeez I like those..
Exactly the right number of valves and they just look so....

“balanced.”
If I had to replace my Norge due to theft or crash, I’d slow down a long time to look at one...

Heh fotoguzzi is that not a RAM clutch (which have their own problems) I thought Guzzi made their own single platers for the Scura, but maybe I have that wrong.
Either way if it's a single plate in it then it's better to mod it to a twin plate setup for sure

Mine was awesome, rebuilt the suspension & it moved nicely through the bends.
My clutch rattled loudly but lasted over 50,000km

i believe it was stock, (but I'm no expert) it came out of my friends Scurra that went thru two in 70k miles.

There is plenty of info on the single plate clutch on the V11 lemans forum, along with anything else you could imagine. :thumb: There are two choices.. change to the common dual plate clutch assembly, or go to the new improved Ram single plater. Just be aware that if any bike has the OEM single plate clutch, you *will* want to change it.
The picture Fotoguzzi posted is a mild one. I've seen pix of destroyed bell housings. As Pete said, it's awfully close to some dangly bits..

Anyone that doesn't have a Greenie is envious. Even prettier than a new Ducati.
-
Well boys and girls I would be very careful with that one.
I contacted the so called owner when he had it listed for the first time.
Never tried so hard to acquire info as well as a quick vid to verify a few things.
The so called owner( which sounded like he was 12) was giving me the creeps big time and would not provide any additional info and did not appear to know a great deal about said machine.
Oh and he went on and on about having no interest in payment other than cash in person???
Now that it has been advertised in a few places and is still available after all that time pretty much validates my thoughts to a degree.
That being said keep us posted on that one.
Ciao

It seems sometimes that buying or selling bikes over the internet is like walking in a virtual minefield. On a moonless night. How’s this response to my advertisement on MGNOC?
Dennis, are there any liens on the title or is it clear? Also, would you send me the VIN #on the bike? I plan on going to the bank on the 31st of March or
the 1st of April to apply for a loan in the amount of $4,250.00. Would you be willing to hold on to the bike for a while when it is paid for until I can get there
to pick it up? I could mail you a Cashier's check in that amount. The Loan officer always asks for that information when making up loan papers for their
records. I will need your mailing address as well to send you the check with your name as the payee? I will call you when I get the loan and we can go
from there! I just don't want it sold out from under me. If some one shows up with cash and buys it please let me know before those two dates. Thanks
Would you send the VIN and wait for the check?

I always think the best of people, and don't really see a problem with that. If it's some kind of scam, it will take someone more versed in the ways of the world to expose it. <shrug>

what bank is going to give $4200 for a nearly 20 year old motorcycle?

Don't know if you are still looking at this bike, but 2 things to note:
#600 was not the last of the bikes, over on V11 Lemans there is a thread called Scura Register...the numbers go up to 699.
Secondly, last year in May, the owner of bike #600 posted a pic of his bike, he's not really active on the forum, but you could try pinging him and see if he sold the bike or if he recognizes this. A couple things are different...notably the Rizoma brake/Clutch cylinders are different from what was shown back in May on the V11 site.
At any rate, be cautious as there have been a few cases of people using other people's pictures on ads...in this case, I wouldn't do anything over the phone, you'd want to see the bike in person.
Good luck in the search for a Scura...they are addictive bikes to be sure, and just look hot even just sitting in the garage!
Here's the thread on V11 for your reference:

At that price I wouldn't worry about the clutch if you want a Scura. That is a nice one for that kind of money, and they don't make em any more..
