Title: argh, leak at banjo inlet!
Post by: amamet on March 20, 2020, 02:14:55 PM
so I rebuilt my phf36 on the lemans, but the carb won't stop leaking at the banjo inlet.  I tried multiple banjos, bought new screens and have new gaskets.  I noticed that the mating surface on the carb is a bit rounded over on the bottom.  is this the culprit?  what can be done?

Put on screen, line up lines on screen w/lines on carb. Put on banjo w/new fiber washer on bolt. Tighten till friction w/turning banjo. Spin banjo while tightening bolt so it all goes in groove. Position banjo before final tightening.

is the screen new? maybe it is hardened? New fiber washer? The fiber washer is the only place I;ve had a leak before, if as guzzi Steve said, the screen and banjo are seated properly.
