Title: I need the dimensions of the "reducer" to fit lafranconis to my lemans
Post by: amamet on March 24, 2020, 10:52:09 AM
can anyone measure the reducer/shim that is needed to fit the 40mm Lafranconi to the 38mm headers for a lemans?  all I have is some really Thun aluminum flashing, it works but itd rather have something closer to what was originally supplied with the pipes.  im going to assume its @1mm thick, would love the know the other approx. dimensions as well.  what material is best?  also what size oring for the crossover?  ill get a bunch and replace  as needed
thx

The reducer is 0.8mm x 25mm wide stainless with approx 3mm gap when inserted into the Lafranconi. No idea about the o-ring as, on the advice of Mr Roper, I had the cross-over fittings modified by a muffler shop to remove the o-ring attachment and replace it with a standard exhaust clamp arrangement - that way there is no o-ring to cook and allow the cross-over to rattle after a short while.

You might find that if you get 1 1/2" inside diameter exhaust pipe ( by whatever length you want) , you can simply cut an angled slot in it
and slide it over the stock header and tap the muffler over it .  Peter
