I’ll pour out some of my morning coffee in remembrance.

Bummer, man. At least you're okay. Now you get to find a new ride. Happy hunting!

As I remember, the options last week were ....
1) Take the money- seriously doubt it will be enough or worth it.
2) Take the money, buy the bike back and part out the good stuff.
3) Withdraw the claim, replace the handlebars, instal whatever lights that I can obtain cheaply and ride the bashed up bike.
Sounds like the amount they offered made option 1) worth it. Not to dip into your private business, but was the payout enough to replace the bike with a similar one?

That ends that mapping issue, ha, ha!!!
-
Sounds like you had many happy adventures together, a bike well lived!
-
No doubt- It's a bummer. But I'm glad you're not the one on the wrecker, being hauled away as officially totaled...
-
Well, man, give us the details! Obviously totaled. How much did they give you? How much would it have cost to keep the bike?
-
So sad.
Glad you kept the seat beads!

I feel your pain. Hope that you get enough funds from the insurance to replace it.
