Title: Day Tripping on a GRiSO
Post by: tazio on March 28, 2020, 09:02:58 PM
Woke up, fell outta bed, dragged a comb across my head...
Another sweet Saturday, Sun up to sundown. 320 miles. NOTHING runs like a goose! With a plastic bag filled with powerbars, two pair disposable gloves, water, P and J
sandwich and hand sanitizer, I lit off in the wee hours for some mental balm.
Spent the day exploring roads seldom traveled at a reasonable clip. No heroics, just takin' it nice and easy. Even worked in a dozen or so gravel miles, mostly to get a million dollar view at the top of Wayah Bold Mountain. As my wife and I both are considered "essential workers" (brings to mind "Schindler's List), with our employer's expectations of not not showing up for work (not not?), ANY means to decompress at week's end carries additional weight. So off I went.
Not looking for absolution, just want to contribute something relating to a motorcycle ride in these confusing times. Hope y'all enjoy the pics.

Very nice and great pics. I love that area, Its my favorite place to ride. I can only get up there once or twice a year, but when I do, its a weeks worth of blissful riding.

Wonderful!  :thumb:
Decompression is vital. Keeping sane is a top priority!

It's still too cold around here, but I hope to take my Griso out in a few weeks' time.

I took my Griso out yesterday for a fun romp, with Lowryter on his Ducati Supersport. We were social distancing on a ride up north of town hitting the only good curves in the area.   :bike-037:

We took the road following the Cimarron River.  HWY 77 north of Guthrie.

BTW- our town, Edmond, is the national crossroads where east-west and north-south highways, Route 66 and Route 77 cross.

Nice pics...something about that Red/Black Griso always catches my eye...may have to take mine out for a safe spin today.

Done enough projects around the house...time to exercise the Guzzi horses!

Another 3 hour tour on the S.S. GRiSO...
Gilligan and the Skipper missed all the fun!
(Also, another 1hr on the mountain bike)
Covered Bridge, Grist Mill, Cosworth's, curves and sunshine. Alone, but never lonely!

I guess it is. #1412 judging by that plaque on the dashboard
Never know what you'll find on the side of the road in Georgia :boozing:

Those automotive times were the very worst.  The Cosworth Vega was an attempt to generate a little excitement, but it was just polishing a turd.  Did not live up to the hype.  Instead of the usual 85 hp, I think they managed 110 in that application.  The premium price was outrageous, if I remember right, close to Vette territory.  But, there can be very few survivors now.
