Title: looking for a set of black bodywork for eldorado
Post by: amamet on March 29, 2020, 07:23:33 AM
just putting this out there.  not a fan of the custom bodywork on the 73 eldorado I picked up.  would love a set of aged, but good black bodywork.  im already "restoring" a lemans 1 and would love to just have a nice older looking bike without going to a full restoration.  if I paint the bodywork then im going to have to do the whole thing, and that'll take me awhile, even with all my free time currently

Have you picked up the Eldo yet?  I agree, it's current paint job is pretty dated.  However, if everything is solid, you might want to consider painting it.  Finding a complete set is gonna be difficult, especially the tank
and side covers.  They're getting pretty scarce.  If you do find them, you're going to pay.  If you decide to paint, please include the chrome panels on the tank.  It's the best look for these bikes.

Have you tried calling Mark at MG Classics?  He's usually got a pretty good stash.

Nothing wrong with that paint job IMO. 50's hot rod style is pretty timeless. I'd ride it like it is until you have funds for a re-paint.

I love hot rods and custom work, but to me, the pinstripping doesn’t work,  on the tank especially
