Title: Anyone know of a good painter
Post by: msullivan on March 30, 2020, 07:35:49 AM
I’m thinking about getting the Raw record Kit for the V7iii. I’m thinking about getting it painting to them scheme below. I haven’t been able to find a local painter as of yet, but was wondering if anybody here has any recommendations for one.

Thanks

Mike

Kent Holt in Athens, Ohio.

Painted my Triumph tank in 1990 and it still looks great!

Ken Holt? OH? Cripes, I may have known his work, mostly on bmw bikes. Back in the day when riders would say 'Glasurit? what the devil izzat?
Could it be his grandson? Seriously.  Good fortune,  R3~

Roebling3,

Yeah, he was/is a big fan of BMWs and has closed his dealership, but I according to his website, he's still doing paint.

He explained that he was the go-to guy for the area's BMW dealers for fixing paint problems. His biggest problem was trying to match all the orange-peel of the OEM paint......

Saw his work on display at Mid-Ohio around '89 and was blown away at the quality on an orange Yamaha FJ1100.

I took my Triumph's tank to him circa 1990 and it still looks nearly as good as it did when he handed it to me.

Yep, he used Glasurit.

Not sure how old he is now, but I'd guess mid-70's.

Craig of Paintworks in Loves Park, IL is a perfectionist and is reasonable.

My availability comes and goes but since I'm retiring May 1 it will get a lot better.

My avatar shows what I do but that tank could be done.

If you've already found someone good for you; I didn't notice where you are and if you can avoid shipping good for you. I'm in Southwest Ohio.
