I was thinking that I could put some favorite music on a thumb drive and send to a subscriber, then that person would send load some additional music on it and send it to someone else. We keep a log of everyone participating along the way and when it's completely filled up we make a list of the music.
I am working this on another forum, largely with Dead related and other artists. I've gotten music from other members on the board. I just wonder if there's any interest here?

Maybe not a good idea at this time. Viral marketing indeed.

I'm not sure if I see the danger in this. The post office delivers mail every day. I wash my hands after dealing with it.
If my music computer was functional, I'd be open to participate in this.

Experiments showed that the virus can at least be detected longer on plastic (3 days?) or metal than on cardboard (or paper). The thumb drive is probably plastic and also has nook and crannies in its metal plug that would be hard to wash. I'd pass on this one.

In this case I'd be concerned about a possible electronic virus...not --19.

infection danger?
Well, I never gave that a serious thought. If after several days in the mail and if you're really concerned, a quick wipe with some isopropyl and a hand wash.... It was just a hobby idea given personal isolation.

Here is the problem , we do now know as mentioned by Moto that the virus can live on plastic for 72 hours . There is simply no way to insure anything being shipped won't be exposed to the virus , the only way we can get ahead of this is to cut off the vectors .

How about we just make suggestions , there are tens of thousand of hours of music on the internet , all of those concerts from Tanglewood , DMB , the Dead , The Allman Brothers from Woodstock '94 when they still sounded like the Allman Brothers . Heck , there was a Guess Who reunion from a few years ago that included Randy Bachman , yeah , they might have been poppish , but Burton could sing in a way that still makes me smile .
Ask Guzzistajohn about the Chicago concert from Tanglewood , they were a powerhouse at their peak . Santana from the same place is stunning , just pure music , both of the shows , no special effects , just raw talent on display .

Good idea. Delete this one and start a music thread.

I think we already have a couple . John , I like your taste in music , well mostly , I really don't understand that Allman Brothers wannabe band
Maybe someone can find those hidden gems , there are hours of stuff , the collaborations David Sanborn does with Marcus Miller featuring people like Boz Scaggs are brilliant . Hell , I just found out that Tal Wikenfeld is a brilliant singer , she phrases like a jazz singer and has this amazing instrument.
In other words , get to work

I'd be more worried about getting dosed by something other than Corvid 19! Something that survives more than 3 days on a thumb-drive and no amount of hand washing afterwards would render ineffective after absorption.

I don't know how many here use Spotify, but you can make collaborative playlists with other users that you invite. The playlist updates as people add their tunes.
