I'm sure many are familiar with the Transil Diode installl mod especially for the Centauro, Daytona RS, Sportis and even V11s
So here's the question what about the early Daytona with the P7 ECU, is it required I'f have thought it a good thing to do, you can't loose much by installing one
Next question where, I've been looking at Carl Allison's wiring diagram and I cannot figure how the ECU get's switched on. I get that it seems to start at the Kill Switch and then onto the Injector and Pump control Solenoids but I can't see where the supply comes in from the switched contacts on these relays
Anybody help me out?

Do you mean this one John?
http://www.thisoldtractor.com/guzzi007/schematics/1993_Daytona_1000.gif actually I think that is a P8 like the 1996 1100I
Pin 20. brown wire from relay (26)
I dont think I have ever seen a P7, is it similar to the P8?
I agree you can't do any harm by adding the diode.

While the diode won't do any harm I have never heard of the P7 having issues with overvoltage. Deep dark memory the P7 has a seperate power supply/ amp to run the coils, assuming that has a fairly robust power supply it would seem a logical point for that to power the ecu with the kill switch stopping the coils.

Yeah Roy that's the one, however the revision I looked at, the red wire feeding both of the Solenoids (sic), 26 & 12 on the switched side did not have the Tee back to the battery and I spent hours trying to understand how the fuel pump could power the ECU. Round in circles I went.
Oh is it a P8, I'm rubbish identifying ECUs. I thought it would be pin 20 but wasn't 100% thanks for the back up.
Ok thanks Murray for the input too appreciated

A few 16M ECUs were damage, and that is when the transil diode was thought up. Not sure it has much value on other ECUs, but if done right, it would never hurt.
