Any take the bags and windscreen off of their Cal 1400 Touring? How does it look with the bags mounts still on? Any pix?
-
Like a Cal Custom. What are you expecting it to look like? Yes
-
Bag mounts and rear fender stays could be different since they're not readily visible. One would assume that they look the same but it is a Moto Guzzi we're talking about.
-
You really are bored! :thumb:

Okay have you seen one with the bags off? I'm looking at modifying my Cal Touring waiting in Phoenix. Possibly changing it into more of a Custom or Audace. Thanks for your reply which is nothing. (edited with smiley)

I have an Audace that I put bags on for convenience. I have the C Bow mounts that allow me to remove the bags in seconds so I have a naked bike immediately. The bike still looks good naked even with the mounts.

And that's the difference. It's what is left behind when the bags are removed. A 1400 Touring has ugly pannier mounts that offeds the eye. That's why I went with a Custom and C-bows.

I crashed my Cal 14 Touring, and took the bags off for painting (one side), and took the screen off (busted). I loved it, it really moved out. So much so I promptly got a ticket for 70 in a 55 on the local parkway.

Ouch.

Ooops! Forgot to add the smiley. (edited)

running a 1400 with just a fly screen but otherwise nakkidd will reveal to you just how fast this bike feels. there is a reason the custom models had bars you had to reach for. i think some magazine clocked 0-60 in under 4 seconds.

This should give you a pretty good idea.

Just for the record. Thanks but it doesn't help. I know what a Cal 1400 Custom looks like. I don't think a Cal 1400 Touring would look the same if just he bags and windscreen were taken off. See Kiwi Dave's post. From what I could see, it would ugly.
-
So what is this?
I know they call it a Cal Custom, but they never made it in white, it sure looks like a Cal Touring to me?

Can't exactly tell what it would like without those HB bags however.

It's a Cal Touring w/o the bags.

Funny! I demo rode a white Custom at the NH National and black Touring. I'm pretty sure that the Touring doesn't look the same without the bags on since they were intended the touring mode. The dealer from the posting is intentionally misleading the public in that sales listing???

That looks like a Custom, not a Touring.

Don't you think JimJoe would know which bike he has? It's clearly a touring, look at the grab rail, and front end, and shocks. Also, I don't think Guzzi ever offered a black Custom.

You're kidding me, right?
-
The shocks are changed, the seat was white, & stock windshield & hard bags are in the garage. It's definitely 1400 touring

Nope. California Touring and California Custom are the same (except for shocks and that the touring has the bags, windshield, etc...)

My second one. First one was silver, the factory paintwork was crap.

Ok, you got me on the color, absolutely came in black. But I was right on everything else!
