Title: Tank bag for Norge
Post by: delrod on April 20, 2020, 08:45:29 PM
I'm shopping for a new bag for my 07 Norge. Looking for some input. Anyone found one they really like? Or really hate? Which of the Givi tank rings work or is it a DIY modification

I have had really good luck with Wolfman Luggage. They make a fantastic pruduct. However, a quick search revealed that they don't seem to be making the exact bag that I have on my Breva. https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/wolfman-waterproof-blackhawk-tank-bag-p , but here it is from a vendor. This one fits well also, https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/wolfman-explorer-lite-tank-bag-v1.7-p , again from the same vendor.
These are both great bags that are very well constructed with quality bits. From what I understand they are moving to an even more durable construction that has some even better weather proofing built in. https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/wolfman-waterproof-enduro-tank-bag-p
The previous bags are water resistant but can be fitted with a rain cover where as the new product line is intrinsically water proof and does not require the extra rain cover.
Here is the home page. https://wolfmanluggage.com/collections/all-motorcycle-bags
They are a solid company with great support. But I am biased, they are just twenty miles down the road from me.

I have the GIVI tank ring on three of my bikes and two different bags-large and small.  Mix and match as needed. Works a treat.

One more vote for Givi ring...had a strap on tank bag before, and the tie down lines broke on normal tightening.  Now I just move the bag from the Norge to the Griso as needed with a ring on each one.

If you've never mounted a Givi ring, it takes a second to figure out, so follow the instructions carefully and make sure not to lose any of the screws into the tank when you remove the gas cap mechanism.

There was also a Turkish guy (Onur) who sold a similar ring...I think he's still selling them, can probably find his contact on Griso Ghetto.

I used the SW Motech tank bag and ring adapter, is more discreet than the Givi Ring, and more bag options.  I grabbed mine from Revzilla

I dont like the look of the mounted tank ring, I am using an eclipse strap-on bag and it's awesome.

I use this one in black, it is showing up out of stock :-/

Sadly, Eclipse is no more. Had a very recent exchange with the guy (after noticing that everything on their site was "out of stock")-- he wrote back to say that after 40-some years he was hanging it up because "bikers only order new stuff from us every 20 years" (or something close to that).

oh wow, thats unfortunate. A case of making a product so good, it's a one-time (or once every bike) purchase!

I've ridden with a Bagster tank cover and small Bagster tank bag on my '08 1200 Sport.  Easy to mount and remove the bag, and the tank cover works with several of their bags (maybe all of them?)  The only issue I have with the cover is a cosmetic one.  It has clear plastic 'windows' that permit the Guzzi logos to show, but the cover doesn't fit as nicely as it should.  Note in pic how the cover won't stretch far enough to expose the entire Guzzi tank logo.

I originally went with the Bagster setup on my Breva 1100 but I switched over to the Givi Tanklock system. I have them on both of my bikes and got the setup for my son's bike also. I've bought 5 or 6 different Tanklock tankbags. My son borrowed a couple of them but I still have different sizes for different rides.

You may like the ring in aluminum instead of black plastic (for a few $$s more from Onur Kuraner in Turkey, okuraner@gmail.com)

I called Wolfman a few years ago and asked if they had anything that had been returned and the guy said YES a BUNCH of stuff! I actually bought 2 one for the funky shaped Tiger tank and one for the Guzzi's I got a SMOKIN' deal and they work perfect.

Add another vote for this - expensive, but the best setup I have ever had for tank bags.
